viruses???

where do viruses come from besides porn and pop ups. my step mum keeps nagging me cuz we had a virus and she's convinced that it was from bbd. any help?

She's crazy. I know a lot of people who don't even run an anti-virus program... Granted they don't go to porn sites but still. In 7 years of computing and 6 computers we have had 2 viruses.

i know she is lol we've got anti virus, she says its from my account but she goes on ebay, game sites and shit like that, i only go on bbd, myspace, bebo and sometimes sites for song lyrics

You can get them from all different sources, attachments, emails, hyperlinks from a website linking to another and not even know it.

God i deal with this stuff on a daily basis at my work.

I know of at least a few instances where people have gotten them from misspellings on sites they're trying to get to. Goggle.com used to be a great example - that popped up some windows that contained trojans and spyware, but now it looks like it's just some sort of affiliate program site where someone is trying to sell something.

PS. It's not from BBD - McAfee has rated us safe. :)

mostly they would come from downloaded things , eg music or videos on limewire or a porno website , or any website for that matter thats infected
