I think you should check with a physician, 24-7 walk-in clinic or whatever, to see if you have anything serious. If it's just a common cold, what usually works for me is 1-1.5g of Vitamin C per day, lots of water and warm clothing. In the meantime, keep training (don't stop!) just reduce your work load and shift towards higher reps, less taxing for the immune system.

Hang in there babe, you will get better at planning for those things. Id up your dosage of vitamins like Gumby said, and pound back the glutamine

If it's a cold what i would do is cut back with the training for a day or two because it is taxing to the immune system. You will lose weight, this is what usually happens when sick. And remember that your health goes first and everything else follows.Don't be that obsessed with all that competition stuff.Set goals, don't hurry and results will come.

results come thorugh working towards your goal, its not obsessing to still work out when your sick, just keep lifting and up your vitimens, if you get worse which shouldt happing, lay off a day or untill better but other then that keep at it, and good luck with your contest!!!!!!!

Thank all of you for your thoughts and suggestions. I really appreciate all of you and you are quite helpful :)
Unfortunately, I feel somewhat worse today. Missed some work(but slept a lot), Im pretty sure I have an ear infection. My ear is killing me, and Im really dizzy etc. Probably go to the doc tomorrow and get it checked out. I havent missed a workout yet per most of your suggestions(Im having to stick to a lot of machines because I dont want to drop any weights on my head being so dizzy), I cut back my number of exercises per body part from 4 or 5 to 3. I upped my glutamine and vitamins and am taking airborne(again thanks for the suggestions). Havent been that true to my diet due to all of this, and am not really able to do cardio right now, but I will just do my best and see how it goes I guess. I still do fear that I may have picked the wrong time to do a contest...Im about to take my NASM test for Personal training and I have new quotas to sell for this month. Should have planned better. Thanks again everyone! :love05:

And Tech N9ne thank you for that lovely quote. I will remember that if I ever get fat. lol

hey banshee, i was talkin to this guy at my gym and he says green tea is really good when it comes to being sick. he told me about it b/c of my cyst, he said he used to get pus pockets on his neck and he started drinking green tea and they eventually went away. i just started drinking it on a daily basis. i hate the taste but its worth it if it keeps me healthy. i bought the lipton brand, he told me that tastes the best out of all of them.
