Hello, My name is Austin. I am 25 years old and looking for some advice on starting my bodybuilding lifestyle and goals. I've been training for several years and have always loved bodybuilding, just have never taken that next serious step and commitment to the sport. After several years of pro wrestling, now I am ready.

My stats are:

5'10
206lbs
around 18% bf.

At my heaviest I was 220lbs. I say as far as muscle goes, im off to a decent start. But I want to take this sport on for the long run. Getting my physique up to the par with my bodybuilding idols such as stan mcquay, chris ****erson, franco , among others. Id say im fairly knowledgeable on the sport, nutrition, and training of course im always learning more and I would love superior guidance. I guess my biggest question as for starters is, at my current progress, should I lean out and get my bf % as low as possible before getting up to the size I need to become a real competitor in a class I want to compete in?

Ideally and I know this is speaking long term but I would like to compete around the 215-220 mark. So thats why im unsure about how to start. I realize I will have to get in the 240-250 off season to be able to comepete where I want eventually. I feel like I have to much bf% right now and if I can get that as low as possible I will have less to lose after bulking but the increase in weight is so much will it make a difference? I figured if I lean out hard now i'll be down around 185-190 tops.

You can see some recent pics at my bodyspace. (id say ive added maybe just a little more bf since those pics, if any) abarton02/

Anyways any advice for starting out would be MUCH appreciated. I can definitely use all the knowledge and help I can get! Thanks so much for taking the time to read this.

Austin.
