Hi everybody!

I have attached 2 pics of me: one is on the stage on September 2008 and the other is 3 weeks out of my first competition on 2nd of may.

I am 5 days out of my first in a two of row competition. And I want to try things that I won't do for the main event which is on 9th of may.

It's my 2nd day of carb depletion. I eat only 10 whites after workout (in the morning) and then on every 2 hours I eat 200 grams chicken breasts. I drink 15 litres water a day.

Is it honey good for loading in the first meal in the first day of carb loading?
I've read that chris aceto said the fructose is no good for loading and the honey contain a lot of fructose I think. And if it's OK could you be so kind to tell me which are the best sources for carb loading? And if somebody tried some tricks which worked before the comp..?

Thank you very much in advance!

First off you look great!

Id stay away from fructose fullstop becase its going to refill liver glycogen before muscle glycogen,

Ive always heard simple carbs as grains or fiberous may push you stomach out,

so things like

white rice
rice cakes
pancakes
soda

a little bit of fructose would be ok so things like fruit juice and crap should be ok

Stay away from white bread IMO, white bread is made from, flour and water, glue is made from flour and water, you dont want glue sitting in your stomach on the day of a comp because that **** aint going to move anywhere,

Ive also heard things like

ice cream
junk/fast food

but i have the opinion you should only fat load if your a girl whos trying to compete is shape or w/e and is at risk of going in too hard thus pushing them up into figure for example,
Because fats can make you look soft

Thats about all i know im no expert so hopefully someone with more contest knowledge than me has some other ideas

Hi, again everybody! Thank you very much Moro!

So today is my first loading day! I started with:

6.00 - 80 grams rice cakes + 60 grams honey.

9.00 - 5 amino, 120 grams white rice (boiled and blended).

12.00 - cake made of: 5 egg whites + 100 grams oats + 50 grams raisins.

15.00 - 100 grams chicken breasts + 150 grams boiled white rice.

in 18.00 - I will eat 5 egg whites + 100 oats.

21.00 - only chicken.

i just saw this thread, from my experience your first carb load meals should be 1/2 sweet potatoe every 2 hours. if you are looking flat then you would go with the wet carbs (oats or rice) stay away from eggs too much sodium it will make you retain water. save the rice cakes for the day of the show. which you will then put some peanut butter and honey on then. honey is a very simple carb and will upload very quickly. i wish i would have seen this sooner.

i'm curious gorilla, why would you save a complex carb for the day of the show, which takes hours to digest and upload, verus a simple carb which is uploaded within 20 minutes?

Welcome to the dungeon! You look great! Fructose only fills liver glycogen because muscle glycogen does not contain the GLUT5 transporters which are fructose specific. Instead skeletal muscle contains GLUT4.

Oh so fructose does nothing for muscle glycogen, i thought it would always "fill the liver first" then the muscles to put it simpleton, but it doesnt at all, good post
