I have never been to a competition, but for me that sounds extremely stupid. In the state that your body is in you could end up at the emergency room from a collapse.

wine. almost everyone has a glass or two of wine the night or day of pre-judging. Art Atwood said that they have wine backstage at the olympia. i have never trie it because of my age, but an older friend of mine was doing it at the show, and it does work.

Yes it does work and Gumby is right on the money, wine is the best choice and it really helps to bring out your veins + with eating sugars.

OK, I believe it works because, alcohol acts as a vasodilator, this means that it dilates surface blood vessels.

"At intoxicating levels, alcohol is a vasodilator (it causes blood vessels to relax and widen), but at even higher levels, it becomes a vasoconstrictor, shrinking the vessels and increasing blood pressure, exacerbating such conditions as migraine headaches and frostbite."

So, A little alcohol should bring out vasularity. :garza:

What are the effects of alcohol on the brain? http://www.addictionca.com/user-news.htm?id=139

Yeah, it works the same way as brocolii, it thins the blood. thinnner blodd lets it pass through your viens easier therefor they get more full of blood. the dehydration part, i dont really remeber why, i learned it in biology 9th grade, but i dont remeber that far back...

I know alcohol is a diuretic....but I dont remember all of the particulars either. Biology clearly was not my major in college. I bet Eli80 knows though!

um drinking is bad...mkay? yeah, the thing it that if you take in to much of any kind of fluid you will spill over, so dont go chugging a bottle of wine, dont take in any more then 2 glasses at a time. most people go two glasses friday night @ around 8 o clock. then they take a glass after pre-judging.
