Ketosis Diet and Precontest Load?? Please help

Hey guys,

My comp is this saturday and am in good stead bout 3.5% bf and starting to dry up but thats not my questions, what i have done to get here is basically

zero carbs high fat and protein for 4 days, then a carb refeeed (bout 600g of carbs) in 1 meal on day 5 and repeat.

Have been told buy a few people that instead o carbing up i should eat a fatty steak and bacon day of show and then snack on chicken with skin up until contest?

Just want to try and find someone who has done it before with some advice

day 5 is not just 1 meal its jst 1 meal with carbs then just protein

basically i was told my body will not respond to carbs but rather to saturated fat?

hope this all makes scence

Wow, depending on how you look right now it might be a little too late to do anything. For a saturday contest, carb loading should've been done on tuesday, today at the latest, then low carb resumed a day or two until contest.

Before deciding to do ketosis to get into a bodybuilding comp did you read any books on it?

4 days isn't too much for keto diet. I believe Dave P said it takes the body about 2 days to switch to keto. Try 7 days.

From what i've read on precontest keto stuff a saturday comp week would look like.

tuesday: Depletion workout start of carb load
wendsday: carb load
Thursday: Possibly continue into carb low/resume low carb
Friday: Low carb
Saturday: Competition

^ start depletion sunday-wednesday. Thursday + Friday (off days no working out).

There is no one way to carb load. Varies from body type and person. Me personally won't be loading till Sat morning (of the show.)

totally agree, this is where experience of your OWN metabolism and how it handles carbs/water etc will come in. Write everything you decide to do down, have faith in what you decide to do, worrying about it will only cause water retention and poss muscle depletion. If it works keep it, if it doesnt uses another method next comp, good luck and well done for getting to this stage!

Thanks moorey and u guys aswell, will let u know how i go and post some pics, have decided before i read the reply to ldo wha u reckoned and go by what i think my carb and water metabolism has done in the past,

Ahve been carb depletting from monday 2pm and water loaded from tuesday now friday no water and no carbs.

Tommmsow comp day i will take carbs and fats in the form of rice breads and natural penut butter and when ever i eat these my veins come right out,

^ remember to get some CANDY! Need to spike that insulin and get those carbs in your muscles to get a pump. Remember bring your NOXPLODE and take a scoop an hr before stage.


Also, SMALL meals in between morning and night show. You don't want to spill over at the night show and look like ASS.

and maybe some viagara, IMO miles better than Niacin for making you vascular as hell!
