Hey guys well i know that i said that i was intending to compete in October this year but as of today i stopped for the following reasons:

girlfriend
work
uni

reason for this is because i wasn't sleeping and i was hungry all the time, still maintaining a full-time job and studying by correspondence at night, didn't want to let work or uni slip which i was doing, plus in a weak moment i snapped at the girlfriend over nothing which scared me considering the circumstances and i am considered an easy going guy.

whats your opinion guys, i went to my coach and told him and apparently im a weak cowardly little shit for not pushing on through, and when i mentioned the gf i was told that i had to be prepared to put it all on the line. and i dont know what your thoughts are maybe its just me but i couldnt justify losing either my job, or failing at uni for a trophy, while this girl is special im not prepared to put her on the line either.

guys im a little confused about if i was justified in pulling out for those reasons what are your thoughts?

Justified? I think not sorry others might disagree but this would be your first contest so we know everything wasnt perfect anyway. It sounds like excuses. No you dont "to be prepared to put it all on the line" I doubt very seriously you were that hardcore. No offense but again it was your first.things got a little tough and you backed out.Yes its hard but you work through that get over that little hump and it gets better.
sorry if this sounds harsh but its no where near as harsh as i wanted it too lol

I hate to say it like that I know youre a great guy but its tough as shit man and once you make it through a few times you will love it and it wont be as bad as you might think.Of course it wont never be easy.
And yes my wife usually hates me for a few weeks but we have to deal with them acting the same way for 4-6 days out of evey month lol

IMO it seems you have took the easier road out however I also believe schooling comes first so if you thought it was effecting you imo you made the right choice. However you are going to need to make sacrafices if you wish to compete which is something youll need to come to terms with before you start up for another show.

hey chief, if she's worth it...she'd stick around through the good times and the bad. your education does come first, but if you are going to school at night, yeah...morning gym lifts can help that out. i work full time, am a graduate student and still have time to go to the gym and compete. i still speak regularly to my ex fiance and she understands what competing means to me and backs me up. so hoenstly...cut the shit and train.

Sup.

Man my first show I went through SO MUCH shit. Grades slipped, girlfriend pissed the shit out of me and didn't feel like breaking things off, the dude helping me treated me like shit and did little for me at 2 weeks out when I was in most need, got into drama with friends, had finals/projects, rejecting parties, etc!

YET, I pulled it off. It depends how much you want it. Just little things are needed to motivate you. For me, it was just meeting Kirk and THG and having fun on stage. If you back out....you will regret it. I agree with Tony it's excuses.

You went this far, what are you just going to stop?! I think not. Some motivation help man gimme a PM and I can help you through rough times. I'm a mega rookie in competitive bodybuilding but can only get better.

Good luck man.

instead of making excuses not to do it use it as an excuse not to do other things like I do.
Ex: Honey I cant go to your parents you know theyll make me eat.
Honey you go shopping with your friends this time I cant take the pressure of smelling all that food.
Baby please take the kids to their game I am tired as hell w/o any carbs
The list goes on lol

ty what everyone is saying, i know its saying the same thing over and over. im preppin for a contest november 8th, im a full-time student, full-time wakeboarder for crue and electric, and i work at ingdirect part-time. im constantly traveling and on the road up and down the east coast for wakeboarding, constantely having to pay 8.00 - 12.00 for gym fee's for a 1 time use, and still finding time to lift 4x a week with cardio sessions included, and eating 5x a day. it sucks but its worth it, you need to be mentally stable to hold it all together, the girlfriend will understand she'll (if she truley loves you) be by you the entire way. sorry to hear you backed out but you did take the easy way out, the harder you work the greater the reward.
