10 months man haha no need to worry now.

I'm a hairless young lad so I'm not shaving until 2 weeks out...tomorrow lmao. Jesus. Anyway, if you're a hairy monster I'd start at 5-8 weeks out if you're hairless I'd say 3 weeks maybe.

Depends. I'd Nair instead of shave imo. Stubs could effect your tan and maybe even burn.

Thanks mitbar!

I wouldn't shave 3 days out. Continuous shaving the ENTIRE body will only aid you in learning where you grow quickest. I'm a noobie at shaving, hell I don't ever shave my 'stache and I'm 15 :) Just don't worry about it for any time soon bra.

Mitbar I would recommend waxing. Nair didn't work well for me but it has for others on the board. Personally I just go all the way and wax but word of caution. Go lightly on the wax and buy extra strips. There is nothing worse than using too much wax and running of of strips. If you happen to run out of strips coffee filters work.

I recomend whatever way yu decide to do it( i prefer nair) to do it at least a couple weeks out to make sure you dont get any effects from it like rash or bumps.Youll need to do it again but nothing worse than shaving 2 days before and breakin out

true true, would eliminating a lot of my hair, ie my legs, really help much with seeing the cuts and weak spots i need to improve on. i am sure it will but i am not sure about wether to just trim the hair or shave it all off to get a better look up to the contest.

Then de-fuzz those babies up and hit the tanning booth. No worries man it's perfectly fine.

I would go for the waxing, itll take longer to grow back and will probably be more smoother!

But make sure you dont wax areas youve already shaved! My mom dared my dad to wax his armpit and he started bleeding! LMAO

ok so i finally got my bf tested and it came out to be 15%. i am going to drop down to around 8-10% and then bulk around november.

this bf % puts me in the heavy weight class in the comp i will be doing. this kind of freaks me out and makes my drive better since i will be going against some big guys. i work out in the same gym as them and know what i am up against. is it bad to set my expectations against these seasoned guys as top five? i dont expect to beat them but will try my hardest to. i think top five in my first compe will be awesome. what do you guys think? by the way i currently wiegh 237 and starting to cut.

Everything you do you want to win; that is just the competitive spirit but you have the perfect mindset going into your first show. Train like you are going to win, think you are going to win, and present yourself that way. But when reality strikes and you place 5th, GREAT!!! You had the courage to follow through and step on stage.

what do you mean that bf% puts you in heavy weight sorry to say but at 15% you shouldnt do a show. You dont need to bulk in Nov for a show that would only be 5 mos away at that time which is only 20 weeks some people diet longer than that.If you want to bulk do it now until oct nov but it needs to be a clean bulk.15% BF you need at least 16-20 weeks to diet you want to be down to single digits at least but 4-5 would be great.

I agree, especially if this is your first comp. leave a little more time than you think you may need, rather than not being on target, aim to reach your goal BF% by about 3-4 weeks out and from there you can just regulate your carb intake to maintain that %age. you don't wanna be crash dieting towards the last 2 weeks of your show, trust me it sucks!!!

Cut down to sub 10% and see where you are at. I would give yourself a few weeks extra because something WILL come up and then you have time to correct and still come in great conditioning. Conditioning wins comps not size.

sorry kaboom i didnt mean for it to come across as i was going to compete at 15% bf. i would be completly stupid to do that. what i meant was even at comp body fat percentage i will be in the heavy weigh class.

i am cutting down to sub 10 right now and hopefully will be there by end of aug. then after that i want to do one more 8 week clean bulk then start to cut for the show. like i said i didnt mean to sound like i was going to compete at 15% bf. really appreciate all the encouragment guys.

Personally I wil shave 3- 4 days before a comp, WARNING though, too near a competition and the body will store water from shaving, waxing or using hair remover. Thats why so many people **** up, shaving one or two days before a comp, makes their skin looks water logged. Also beware when your travelling of getting in a cheap motel or guest house where ther is no air conditioning, if its hot weather and youre in your room, your body will start to hold onto water because of the heat, so always ensure you know they have air conditioning or take a fan, little details are the difference between winning and losing! let your opposition make the mistakes, not you!
