I know that pros take drugs called diuretics to drain out water fat from their bodies to give them that crisp, grainy look, and you would also have to take slow K to prevent muscle cramping. But it's very dangerous and can be fatal if used improperly. If you are to compete I would research a lot about draining water first. There is a lot to pre contest. Some bodybuilders use preperation H in the tanning beds a couple hours before competition. This helps to remove a lot of water, however more water comes back a couple short hours after doing this. So it's only a good tactic if you don't need much time to compete. That's really the safest one that I know of and I doubt that there is anything safer?

15 days out is when you start to mess around with sodium/water. i use this strategy.

15 days out-up sodium by 4 grams plus the food your eating. drink two gallons of water a day

10 days-lower sodium to 2 grams plus food. drink 2 gallons of water a day

7 days out- same as 10 days exept 2.5-3 gallons of water

3 days out- lower sodium slightly, cut water down to 2 gallons

2 days- no sodium, cut water to 1 gallon

friday-no sodium, no water (if you need water then drink some, i dont drink any on this day.)

show day- i dont eat or drink anything till after pre-judging.

Thanks Gumby that's pretty helpfull right there.

And just to make sure, when we talk about the sodium its the "salt" in foods? just making sure cause im pretty new to this contest prep thing.

And ill deff try this strategy unless the one i consult with will come up with something better...

For the extra salt, i just take spoons of katchup, or something like that. you can just salt foods, but i like to know the amount in each serving im getting.
