Okay everyone, im no necessarily new to bodybuilding, but i decided to do a show in this coming april. It will be my first. All i have is one question. im plannen on competing in the bantam weigth division, but heres my perdicament. im 19 right now, but i turn 20 honestly less than 2 weeks before the show. i dont think i will be in the teen class anymore, so should i even bother with competing against like the "veterans" or the guys who are in their 20s and who have been training for years???

yes you wont be the only one and they have a novice class which is for beginners but you will have some that have already competed cause you can do novice until you place first in some class

Read Layne's precontest article about 10 times and take notes.

Competing is a funny thing. Either it is a personal goal or you are in it to win it. Now to a certain extent we are all in it to win, but not everyone has that as the primary reason. I think you need to decide if you can take giving it your all and maybe not taking the top prize, and still feeling like you have accomplished something.

I'd go for it, you just might surprise yourself.

just go for it! it's one of the best feelings you'll ever have to walk out on stage and show off what you've got, just make sure you go all out and do everything to your best ability and you will not be dissapointed, regardless of your placing. just remember that we all have to start somewhere! good luck!
