I got 3 questions on 3 different topics. Hope you guys got some good answers.


First question:

I have a refeeding day every saturday where I eat whatever I want. Is that a bad move when Im supposed to carb deplete the next week, or do you think it will benefit me as my metabolism will skyrocket?

During dehydration do you recommend to drink a lot of green tea, coffe, pepsi max or whatever that contains a lot of caffein to drive the water out? Or should I just stick with regular water? Is sitting in a sauna a good idea?

Depleting workout. I recon I should just go through what I always do, but up the reps to 15 on each set. I was thinking though, is it okay to do 1 heavy set for each musclegroup to help the muscles maintain better? I was thinking 1 heavy set on squats, deads and bench particuallary.

Answer to 2, Water, and don't get dehydrated at all !

# 1 - Ok!

# 2 - Naw man I dont plan to either. Ive heard all I need about cutting water and I would NEVER cut it all out. I guess 8-10 gallons of water during the week and about 2 gallons the final day or something.

# 3 - Sorry, meant "depletion workout". You know what it is right?

A guru in his e-book say that the best strategy is 3 days low carb on 1 day high carb ..but I think is more logic to do 1 day carb refeeding a week and in that day try to consume 6gr of carb per lb of bodyweight ..and of course minimize fat at all cost on that day

e.g. *re-feed day *90lbx6= 540 gr of carbs ... and if u are endomorph or weigh more than 100kg consume 10gr of carb per lb


By the way on the "depleting workout " If i understood ,U are referring to deplete all muscle glycogen on low carb days ..I have more less the same question cuz when its wise to maintain the same heavy weights as offseason to maintain muscle in the range of 8-12 ..some people say that its better to work on the 12-18 reps cuz its true that the more lactic acid buildup ,the more natural GH is released, and that leads to more fat burn and muscle definition ..but regardless of that, in my opinion ,is to go heavy weights with high reps

Heck! U see some battle of the olimpia vids and some bbilders go ballistic until 30-40 reps ..but im not sure if that is more applied to the final depletion days before the competition ..or in each phase of carb depletion..

It'll be nice to discuss more on this..
