I would not use distilled water ever. Its used for things like irons and radiators because it has no minerals in it. If you drink it, it will take them from your body. The stuff is bad for you.

Ok, I'm at a loss as to why the stuff is so popular in the stores then. Is it just a public misconception that distilled water is cleaner than what comes out of a lot of public water sources (ie. tap water)? Personally I just drink the filtered stuff out of my refrigerator or when I'm on the go I drink bottled spring water (usually Kirkland stuff from Costco). My tap water isn't bad, just more out of habit at this point.

I cant say its the truth. :) Im just reapting what Ive heard, and may be one of the idiots contributing to spreading bad info. Someone please correct this if it is wrong. Distilled water is cleaner/purer from what I understand, just missing the minerals.

Yeah, did some online research myself and read similar information. Someone please correct us if we're wrong, but it does appear true that distilled water does indeed demineralize the body if you drink enough and aren't eating/drinking other healthy things.

The mostly use distilled water in hospitals for cleaning out patient's tubes, suctioning water, etc.

Like Ghosting said before it is mainly used for things like irons and radiators. Another place it can be used is in car batteries when the cells run out of water. If you put regular water in them they won't hold a good charge.
