I didn't say growth hormone causes them to fuse. In fact it does that opposite, thats why its called GROWTH hormone, not "stay short and become a pro bodybuilder" - hormone. Testosterone ABSOLUTELY DOES cause growth plates to close. There is no getting around that. The sun causing skin cancer is a TOTALLY difference mechanism, you can't compare them. What I was saying was that he was probably using testosterone from the start, which made his plates close, because at age 16 his physique doesn't look natural, especially when you see him putting 4 plates on whatever the heck exercise he was doing.
