Dorian Yates mixed in with Jay Cutler...why i have no idea



go ahead and flame me for sayin it but, i duno just dont think he was all that great,

Now i respect him for what he is (a bodybuilder, all deserve respect for their determination and devotion) but as for him personally, i really dont like the way he comes off i guess?


anyone got any ideas why he is so highly regarded within the bodybuilding scene?

Well, he set new standards for mass in the early to mid 90's pretty much. After 1993 everyone had to play catch-up with him for a year or two. Also, his conditioning was always near-perfect; he's probably one of the only mass monsters to nail it every time.

He was also known for his gym intensity; let's face it, many pros get lazy in the weight room and sometimes even train like they're half-asleep, especially come contest time. Dorian, however, was always known to train balls-to-the-wall, which the judges respected.

He wasn't considered genetically gifted like a lot of other pros but overcame it with his intensity which he also used to overcome pain and injuries.

only in his calves. well, at least they grew a tad easier than some other body parts. all in all he is a great olympian. best bb'er europe has ever seen since arnold.

It's apparent that showing Dorian and Jay in the same video, (cutting from similar exercises between the two) that they are showing the juxtaposition between the two Mass Monsters of their respected eras.

I respect Dorian immensely and he has always been an excellent representative of the sport. He doesn't "come off" as anything but intelligent, and conveys what he thinks very well. This is MUCH more than what I can say about many pros these days. His training is still being called upon by current pros, so you can take that for what it's worth.

you're free to pass judgement though... i just would like you to interpret what he says a little better is all.. A little defensive perhaps? Hold up, I'm going to look at your pictures so I can get a better idea as to whom I am talking to.

oh an i didnt know he was responsible (personally i believe in a good way) for mass monsters to come into play
