I recorded this last night. They talk about how fake and stupid those "before & after" pictures are that companies use to trick people into thinking that their product works.

Video (6:43):
http://www.zshare.net/video/deceptive-ads-wmv.html

They talk about how the company paid Michael Piacentino (bodybuilder) to stop working out and eat junk food in order to get really fat for his Xenadrine ad.

Like the guy said...you have to suspend common sense for those ads to mean anything. Plus, does it really a surprise anyone that they try to have the before shot look like ****? If I was the marketing person for one of those Newspaper holding before and afters....I would have the guy fat as can be, unshaved, looking like he got tanked the night before, bad lighting, needing a haircut, pasta sauce on his face from his last meal....

Advertisers - right up there with lawyers. Or down there I should say.

"People always ask me why I got so fat for those pictures, and I always say that I was heavy to begin with but for those pictures I really had to push it out. If they say, "Here is $10,000 look as bad as you can" I'm going to do it! (laughs). I can look heavy, push my stomach out and not shave and look like a wreck."
