Hey Ya'll
So I am in a serious relationship. I have been with the same girl for about 2 years now and she has always been SO SUPPORTIVE with me and my working out. She'll help me when i need a spot or help me stretch before and after, plus she is an awesome cook. I feel very grateful that she'll even clean my nasty shaker cups after i forget to wash one...what about ya'll You guys have good tales? I dated one girl who got mad everytime I went to the gym, cause she thought I went there to pick up on chick...how wrong she was...

Well, I was dating a girl a while ago who just didn't like the idea of me going to the gym 5 days a week. She'd complain to me that I'm going "too hard out" and that I should "take it easy"! I don't know...it just seems to me that most females just don't understand the commitment, complexity etc etc of BBing. I guess that can be grounds for tension in any relationship, though it wasn't so much for me...

I think it can make women feel insecure. Because we're training and improving our bodies, i guess it could make your girlfriend feel like you expect more from her body, or that her body isn't good enough. Sadly, in my experience, it's less likely to motivate a girl who's that insecure to start working out herself, and more likely that she'll moan and complain and manipulate until you stop working out so much. Maybe that's just the nasty women I've dated though, lol.

My wife's pretty good about it.
I've been doing it since before I met her and it's just a part of who I am, so she's cool. I think she likes the fact anyway, tells her girlfriends about my six-pack and stuff! ha ha!

Feel fortunate bro! As you can see, most girls aren't that understanding about the lifestyle. It is a selfish lifestyle, but the girl needs to have a certain understanding and respect for you to deal with it. I was in a relationship with a girl who would sabotage my diet on purpose and constantly try to make me miss the gym by inventing distractions or situations. I think it does make them insecure that you are improving yourself and they might become more critical of themselves in the process.

I actually got my girlfriend into working out, shes improved quite a bit. Sometimes I do feel like she only does it because me working out all the time makes her feel lazy or that she doesnt look as good.

She still doesnt understand the whole mindset thing before I workout though. When I go to her gym with her she'll go on and vent and talk nothing but negative. I've told her before that she can vent all she want, just not before the gym. I have to fill myself with positive thoughts and get psyched for this workout. If I'm not in the right mindset before I workout then I'm going to start out shitty and maybe not recover.

Many times my g/f doesnt understand my dedication. She'll just ask questions like "wheres this going to get you, your not going to be a professional bodybuilder". or "you need to focus on something else like you focus on the gym". and one other one that really gets to me, because I'll ask people why they stop working out or why she hasnt worked out all week and she'll say "well you dont have school or work so you can workout easily" and I'm going to show her in the Fall that I can attend classes, study, get great grades, work, and stay dedicated to the gym all at once. She doesnt really think its possible, I'll show her ass.
