Muscle Mag International has a section where they talk about the funniest or silliest things that happen in the gym. I would like to hear more like the guy that shouts at his biceps to grow, the guy that bumps his head against a bar before a set etc.

Here is mine:

This morning in the gym I saw a couple doing heavy barbell curls while standing (trying to balance) on a fitness ball!

Imagine a round ball with the top halve cut off. They were standing on the top flat part.

Not only funny, but dangerous!

How about this one.
I got the the gym the other day and there is a group of three guys that come in at the same time as me.
I saw 1 guy of the group do 1 set of incline bench press in the same time I did 4 x 12 rep sets of good quality flat bench presses.
The reason for this.........
before the guy did his set and after he was done his one set the group would just stand around talking the whole time.
They were talking really loud and I could tell by the dirty looks everybody was giving them that people were getting frustrated.
I finally aproached the group and informed them that if they want to talk that maybe they could find a better place to do so other than at the gym.
The group just noded their heads and were pretty quiet for the rest of their workout.
They waited until I was done my workout and when I was leaving, one of them aproached me and said he pays as much as much as I do a month do be at the gym so he will do what he wants when he is there.
**Special note. The guy who aproached me went to the same highschool as me and looks the same now as he did then**
I replied "Well I guess if you are happy looking the same as you looked in highschool then I guess you are on the right track" Then I waited for a reply and he said nothing.
Not sure if I'm the only one but i can't stand people who just talk the entire time they are at the gym. Talking between sets briefly between sets is one thing but holding an entire conversation about the bar from the night before is unbearable.
I'm slowly learning to block it out but to what extent can you block it out??

Meh, I see amusing things all the time, but I could care less. I'm more focused on what I'm doing. What about the funny things that you have done? Man, I remember doing crunches on the ball. Twisting to hit the obliques...just kept going...for failure. I usually do 25 reps for 5 sets....well, I guess I did one too many, and when I moved to sit up, my abs contracted so violently I rolled off the ball and went down to the floor.

I rolled out to stretch, trying to breathe and relax, but I would chuckle cause I thought to myself, "shit, do I need an ambulance? how pussy is that going to look, I'll never be able to show my face at the gym again" (something like that) and imagined myself asking for help from the girl next to me and how stupid it would sound. (I'm a young guy mind you, in my twenties--so the joke "i've fallen and i can't get up" would probably had sounded like a come on) Soon as I started laughing, abs would tighten up something fierce... I'd mentally relax (trying to gain control of what appeared to be involuntary spasms). I rested for like 5 minutes the contraction stopped and I was a-ok to leave the gym.

It happens once in a while when I go too far with my ab training, but I know when it is about to come on and completely stop.

Did not happen to me..no really it was my training partner. We were doing a heavy leg day and we were on the 45 degree legpress and he must have had a good leg pump cause on a about the third rep of the fourth set his pants split, this would not normally be a problem except he was "free ballin". :popo1:

lol funniest thing i ever seen:
I was working at the juice bar at my gym which overlooks all of the treadmills. Turns out, someone left one of the treadmills on at a pretty fast pace. Some dude goes to get on the treadmill unaware that its already on. He steps on and flew back smashing against the wall behind him! Funniest shit ive ever seen i had to lie down i was laughing so hard ahah.

lol some pretty funny shit seen a few funny things before. ther was this chick there who was HUGE we alled her big momma but after a few months u wouldnt recognise her she lost so much weight, our cardio room has a glass screen covering it but for this little door and she walked smack straight into the glass while trying to have a drink of water lol

another one was when i was running the tredmil after weights when i was going ok thought to close my eyes well i ended up running slower but not noticing and ended up my face smacking the moving tredmil.
and one more is when this guy i usually talk to walked into the gym and left brown spots all over the flor trailing him...after doing a set of dumbell laterals he looked and found it on his shoes, wiped his finger thru it and put it at his nose to smell and he pulled his finger away and made the funiest face ive ever seen ive never eveer seen anyone smell dogshit so close to their nose lol

LOL at the dogshit.
This may not be the funniest, but may be the stupidest exercise of all time. A guy at my gym that is a big wannabe does this. He will walk up to the lat pulldown, turn so he is facing away, grap the bar, go into a full crab so the back of his head is on the seat and his belly is facing the ceiling and then do bicep curls towards his face. It is ridiculous.
