Hey guys I was just wondering if some of you guys know what qualifications do you need to become a personal trainer? Do you need any kind of degree of certificate?

You need to have cpr/aed certification, then you find a school like ACE or NASM and register.

it depends on whether you want to start ur own business or work for another company... if u start ur own business then kaboom is right, in some states u dont need any kind of certification although most areas will require a cpr/aed and national certification.... if you want to work for another company they will require a national certification and possibly a BS in kinesiology

Research as much as you can in the areas of anatomy, including the skeletal structure, muscle groups and anatomical systems, nutrition, weight training, and Kinesiology.

^^^ True

If you go to work for a big chain alot of those places will ask for a reputable school as well as a CPR/AED certification since you will be working with people of all ages and cardiac events can happen.

Hey guys thanks for all of the replies! Going to start looking into a cert school in this next year or so when I get back to the States. I haven't taken many college courses pertaining to kinesiology/biology but I have all generals and some extras done. So atleast that will help towards degree.
