I might be jumping the gun a little, but 2009 comps are wrapping up, and it's time to start thinking about the new year! I think a couple of you are going to be competing for the first time, so let's hear it! This is in regards to bodybuilding, power lifting, strong man... anything! If you're competing, I'd like to know about it.

I've been thinking heavily about the situation: with Kaboom and Dapack both competing so close to each other, I'm getting the itch again (and no, I'm not talking about my herpes flaring up).

I am definitely competing again in the June show that I did this year. And I was thinking about hitting up an April show in Baltimore. Depending on how I do on those, I will make my return to the USBF stage at the Baltimore Natural in November.

April 2010 - Baltimore, MD
OCB Eastern Regional
Men's Bodybuilding: Debut, Novice, Junior, 60+, 50+, 40+, Open
Women's Bodybuilding: Debut, Novice, 35+, Open
Figure: Debut, Novice, 45+, 35+, Open
Fitness Model: Male, Female
Ms. Fitness: Open

June TBA 2010 - Wilmington, DE
OCB Central Eastern Seaboard States
Men's Bodybuilding: Novice, 50+, 40+, Open
Women's Bodybuilding: Novice, 45+, 35+, Open
Figure: Novice, 45+, 35+, Open

Nov TBD 2010 - Baltimore, MD
USBF Baltimore Natural
Men's Bodybuilding: Novice, 50+, 40+, Open (Pro Qualifier)
Women's Bodybuilding: Novice, 45+, 35+, Open (Pro Qualifier)
Figure: Novice, 45+, 35+, Open (Pro Qualifier)

Im trying, im talking and reading alot about how i can increase my numbers while dieting down. Since its in July i plan on going up to 220 and then diet down 190.So i dont have to dehydrate to much.25 pounds isnt to bad since i can drop over10 pounds in day without trying to dehyrdate.(when to six flags and i ate and drank as much as possible and dropped 10 pounds lol)

I plan to do the NPC Midwest Ironman next November. It's a national qualifier. Jay Cutler guest poses every year (videos are floating around of him from this past weekend's show). My goal would be to get up to light heavy status, but for now it's looking like middle weight.

I just recently went to a powerlifting meet to check it out. Those things are awesome. I wish I were stronger, I'd love to compete in one of those.

Egotrip, you've competed before right? I can't remember what kind of history you have. Are you trying to win and go on to a national show or are you just competing for the thrill?

I competed once many years ago. I would love to win and compete at the national level, but I have a long way to go. For now I guess it will have to be the thrill of competition, although you never know. I have been less then impressed with some of the guys that have one the national qualifiers. I didn't even think they were the best in their respective classes.

I'm with you...I wish I were stronger.

Alright, get the thrill of the comp and win at the same time! Good luck. I'm no expert but I do have some under my belt, if you want help on prep I'll be free to give you my opinion.

As far as winning goes... I've been to too many shows where it's been "He/she won?! WTF?!" Natural or not, every bodybuilding show seems to be a lot of politics. That's why I just do this for fun. So make sure you enjoy yourself most of all, win or not.

Come on now. It is possible to stay lean and lift big weight. I refer you to Dave Gulledge. He dropped weight and increased his maxes. Though, it would take me a lot of time to get to powerlifter weights, but who knows what the future holds.
