I was recently temporarily banned from this forum because of my radical points of view concerning the current state of bodybuilding.

I have never meant to offend anyone on any forum...I am saddened and disillusioned by bodybuilding as it is today. I do realize that it is a personal choice for anyone concerning their AS usage. This does not change my mind about my opinions concerning steroid usage and competitive bodybuilding.

It behooves me to think that it is not possible for anyone to succeed in the game of bodybuilding without chemicals, unlike any "sport" that I am aware of at this time.

I have been personally involved in weight training for over 30 years. I never had the desire to compete in amateur bodybuilding...I lifted for my own health. As a kid of 13 or 14 I was intrigued by the physiques of Chuck Sipes, Bill Pearl and Vince Gironda. Old habits die hard, so I have continued to follow bodybuilding, although I do not like the current state of affairs concerning it. To think that it's impossible for young men to compete in the NPC amateur arena, let alone the professional ranks, without being enhanced by a miriad of drugs is like losing an old friend to me, and I can only see it getting worse.

I apologize to anyone who has been offended in my past posts. I'll admit that I do go overboard in my opinions...although I take the issues seriously indeed.
I have not been asked to write this post.

I feel that today's bodybuilding is becoming more and more an "underground" activity, and I do not see anything very positive either currently or in the forseeable future. That the general public views bodybuilding in a negative light saddens me, as this keeps the game on the "back burner".

I will try my best to not opinionate with such bravado. I do feel it is my right to have my own opinions...and I do ask that respondees look at my views with an open mind.

Also...I am very open about my sexuality. It is a part of what I am. I consider myself to be comfortable in my own skin, and make no apologies for what I consider "normal". I would appreciate it if other members try be more open-minded about this issue...a person's sexuality should not become fodder for insensitive jokes. I do have broad shoulders when it comes to the subject, and I do have a good sense of humor, but crass comments are not funny.

Peace.

If you don't like the current state of IFBB pro bodybuilding then look into natural bodybuilding.

Why?

I have several friends who compete in "natural" bodybuilding, and they swear that many men are not as natural as they'd like people to think.

You don't mention the amateur ranks...like the NPC USA and Nationals. Is there even one amateur on those stages who make the top 20 who would fail miserably if tested for drugs?
I see no reason whatsoever why a person with my views should turn and look the other way.

Is there no one who participates in this forum who has even a notion that something is amiss?
I'm thinking about a lot of things when I look at the issues at hand.
I'm far from being a prude...I've consider the pros and the cons...doesn't it seem the least bit "insane" knowing that it's IMPOSSIBLE to compete in these venues without the help of various drugs and concoctions?
Yes, there are sports where players enhance their abilities with AS...we all know...baseball, football, etc....but imagine no one being the least bit successful in their chosen sport without chemicals...every player on every baseball team...every football player...all the members of the NHL.
When and where will it end?

You shouldn't change your views. But if you don't like the state of bodybuilding you can either try to change it or look elsewhere for the same stuff.

I don't think there's anything wrong with bodybuilding all together, its a very young sport and is going through a natural progression.

Wanting to be physically stronger and larger isn't an advent of the current state of the world. It won't get worst because the fans won't attend to see a show if it has people with physiques they don't appreciate.

I don't really understand why he got banned. He was expressing his opinion and a lot of what he said was true.
Ronnie Coleman in his earlier days at a lighter bodyweight looked a hell of a lot better than when he bulked up.
The olympia has become a freak show.

Many people who compete in natural bodybuilding are 100% natural, you shouldn't let a couple bad seeds who cheat ruin it. I think of it like baseball or football im not going to say **** the sport because people cheat i love it so you just have to deal with it.

This Is the kind of things I like to hear. You are the bigger man by stepping up to the plate and handling your business in a mature manner. Reps are coming your way and for a good reason. If this attitude keeps up, well then I'm glad your back in town bro. Good job.

I think a ban was over the top. If it was a racist thread or he was personally attacking people then o.k but he was just pointing out some of the negative sides of bodybuilding.

So what about HOW he said it, people need to grow a thicker skin.

Doesn't matter much now bro, he stepped up and made an awesome intro post apologizing for the past incidents. Were all glad to have him back and respect him for manning up and wanting to be back apart of the team.

He was basically saying that EVERYONE in bodybuilding is on drugs and gay. It was getting to the point that he wasnt just stating his opinion he was making statements directed towards bodybuilders in general. A ban for 7 days from a bodybuilding site over the top? If nothing else it gave him and everyone else a chance to cool down. Its clear in that thread that he was pissing people off with the way he was stating his opinion. He was gone for one week and now hes back and is saying the SAME opinion without being over the top. If that offends you then maybe you should grow thicker skin.

Just doesn't make sense in saying such words then subscribing to a bodybuilding forum. Either way, I believe in forgiveness. If his attitude truly changes then that would be great for him. If not, then I wouldn't give a damn about the guy lol. Only time will tell.

OK i may of exadurated the everyone part but just read the thread for yourself. As a Mod its about knowing when to step in before things get out of hand. Whether i pulled the trigger to early or not is up to people reading to decide. What matters is that he came back with a diffrent attitude and a much more respectable tone.

Exactly that's why I gave him mad kudos for stepping up to the plate. I personally don't know the issues that went down in the past but like you said, he came back a different person so that's all that really matters.

haha i just read that post and he stated its IMPOSSIBLE to compete at an amateur level without steroids. Ronnie Coleman won his pro card natty. That and hardcore BB aren't family men for one to mix up dedication for not being family oriented and thats all i have to say about that.

i agree with HP. he was obviously really frustrated in his first post. and ya the ban was a decision and is over, whether it was right or wrong its all done. i hope everyone can just move on from this, his apology seems sincere, so let it all go and see what happens.

I didn't know it was just a 7 day ban I thought he appologised and that is why he was allowed back. It doesn't offend me, I don't know the guy I just looked at the threads he posted and did not think it was anough to warrent a permanant ban(which I now know he didn't get).

I think he raised some good points about the drug use which people seem to turn a blind eye to.

Ok i'm glad it was just a misunderstanding. It was definitely not bad enough for a permanent ban.
