If i am working out 5 days a week (one body part a day) as well as 25 min of no break ab workout what is the best amount of days to rest during the week(1 or 2 )if i am wanting to build mass and stay as lean as i can. i eat very healthy and most times only take one day of rest in between the 5 days of working out.. i have been feeling a little over trained but im not sure if it is just because im working out hard(good for me) or if im over training... plrase, everyone give me your opinion!!!!

I think a common response is "listen to your body." If the weights start getting too heavy, or if you start sleeping past your alarm clock even though you've had 8 hours of sleep, or if you suddenly feel like you're getting sick when it's not flu season, then you're not getting enough rest.

My personal opinion, 2 days of rest a week is optimal, but sometimes I need 3 if I'm bogged down with other stressful tasks, and yet other times I feel as though I could hit it 6 days a week. But again, optimal is probably 2 days of rest a week.

I use to use a schedule of 2 days on 1 day off then 2 days on 2 off. so that was 3 days a week off. I got excelent gains with that. but i then switced to 5 days a week on sat & sun off as Kaboom said and i found that a little better as i got more use to my training my body reacted a little better with a day less of rest. As long as you have around 48 hours in between the same body part you should be ok. Depends on how you feel really, i would take as many as i needed off to rpevent over training or possible injury.. not worth a torn pec or tri if you ask me.

I do 2 days on 1 off. What do you need a 25 min ab workout for?

I do about 25 min of abs because that is my cardio and ab workout in one. it is alot of sets of multiple exercises with no break in between... really so i do not have to run or do as much cardio... i do not like running but i still do some every other day.

for me my job takes me away from home every other day, so i use those as my rest days, if i could train on a regular schedule, i would have 2 days off , generally 2-3 days on with 1 day off, then 2 on and 1 off,, but i think as long as your getting some rest days in your fine, like kaboomey said, he trains 5 on and 2 off, so what ever works for you is the key!
