I was working out and i was in shape. Then i stopped because of something.i have stopped for a few months :( but my new years resolution is to get back into shape. Will i get back in shape like i was faster then normal? or is it like starting all over again.

You do have muscle memory BUT it depends on how long you were lifting before you quit.. Weeks, months, or years? IMHO its a lifestyle and you have to be a motivated person for it to work. Effort and dedication are all you need. Don't worry about time right now just get started.

taking off some time from the gym happens to all of us at one point or the other, its not something to stress yourself out over, just pick up where you left off, you will probably be a bit weaker than when you were regular, but that is to be expected, as the other post said, muscle memory will come in to play, so getting back to the point you were before should come easier than when you first started lifting, now if you were to take off 6 months or more,,you would have a different scenario, get your diet back on track and get back into the workouts and you`ll be well on your way back to a brolic you..

I agree with Mike and nevergiveup. No worries though just hop back on track and shoot for your dreams. Muscle memory has saved us all.

When I stopped for a year and a half it took longer to get where I was when I stopped than it did the first time.
