My first question is: i am really trying really hard to lean up, because i am playin D1 football next year. but no matter how i adjust my diet, i cant seem to loose weight.

My second question is: i cant use any supplements at all for the next 4 months due to medical reasons, any advise on how to make up for the supplements by adjusting my diet. I cant have meat very often because my parents are vegitarian so i cant have meat in my house. Please help!

No worries man. Answer the following questions and we would be more than happy to help you out.

What is your current:
Height
Weight
BF%
What type of bf test did you use? 2 site, 3 site, 7 site, electronic scale, bod pod, underwater weighing?
What is your bodytype: ecto, endo, or meso
Years training
Any diseases that affect training/nutrition: You don't have to list them just put yes or no if you want, don't even have to answer but helpful

Anything else we should know (great that you mentioned you don't have access to meat and you can't have supps)

Look forward to working with you.

Definitely a challenge, but we'll figure it out.

First question i have for ya is, are you a vegetarian yourself? If not, would they mind if you kindly approached them about having meat in the house? You can add that it is for the protein, and finding other sources is stressful -- maybe they'd be desensitized lol.

Second, where are you going? D1 is awesome, good luck and let us know how it goes.

As far as your body fat, you're in the low-mid 20's. If I had to quickly guess, I'd estimate 22%; I don't disregard the fact that under it, you have some development.

Here's the guideline you need to stick to: in order to lose weight, you need to be in a caloric deficit (take in less calories than you burn). Don't overcomplicated that.

First, before we construct a diet, I'd say you'd need to discover what the options are.

Protein:
Eggs, egg whites. Burgers? Fish? (if you can get some fish, protein expenditure will be much easier).

Carb sources are simple. Complex. Oats, sweet potatoes, brown rice, grains, borccoli, other veges, etc.

Fats: oils, nuts (will aid in protein consumption), omega-3's.

Thoughts?

Can you have milk or eggs or do you stick strictly to grains, beans, and legumes? What are our options in terms or protein? I agree with KM, bf probably in the low 20s but I would definitely get it figured out for certain so we have a baseline to go by.

Wow, thanks for yor input KM, greatly appericiated. I am not a vegetarian, i do eat chicken, fish, turkey when i get a chance. Its just hard for me to eat meat on a regular basis because my parents are hardcore vegetarians. ill try to talk to them about allowing me to have meat.
as far as protien goes, I will try to incorporate more eggs and fish in my diet. Oats and brown rice should help with carbs

I am playing football @ Southern Illinois University next year. I am so excited!!

Freak:
In terms of protein, i do have milk and eggs in my diet. I do also eat a lot of grains and beans. My recovery time has slowed down dramatically after i stopped taking supplements. Its just hard to consume enough protein needed like i used to when i was on ON 100% whey.

bro, are you sure you cant use whey protein? i dont really consider that a supplement, just general nutrition for any weight trainer or athlete... i mean i know a few vegetarians that use whey protein to get their daily amounts and they dont even lift weights at all... i dont mean to bug u, i was just curious

a good question would be to a more specific definition of "supplements" as well as your reason for discontinuing the use of "them." I must agree with Trainhard19, and simply say that in the realm of supplements, the use whey protein is not what I'd call a red flag for any kind of health risk that readily comes to mind. I could possibly the misuse of it causing some long term problems, but is there any way you could elaborate on the supplement issue?

Don't mean too be rude, but are you going there on scholarship or as a walk-on? I'd guess you're gonna try to make it as a walk-on because you have the bodyfat of an offensive linemen but the size of a small safety or a corner. But no way would you be fast enough for those positions, so I'm gonna guess a really small fullback? Anyways, tell us what position you plan to be.

Also, tell your parents that don't they realize they're missing A LOT of essential vitamins and minerals like iron, zinc, copper, magnesium, etc by not eating meat, specifically red meat. Therefore, they're not near as healthy as they think they are. Actually by not eating meat they are hurting themselves a lot more than they're helping. Also, I really don't mean to be more rude than I already am, but if they really cared about you playing college football, then they would realize that you need lots of meat, and they would make exceptions for their bogus vegetarian beliefs.

Another thing, why can't you have supplements? Define what supplements you can't have, because I can't imagine any medical condition (other than something wrong with your kidneys) that would prevent you from taking whey protein, creatine, any vitamin supplements, etc.

Once again, sorry for being rude, but I can't stand the stupidity of vegetarians, it sickens me. Plus I'm on a testerone high so getting angry is pretty easy.

In highschool, i played defensive end and long snap. however, after talking to the coaches, i am just going to long snap in college. That is the reason why i want to loose weight, i dont need it anymore becasue i am not playing d line anymore. I am going as a walk-on, but i practically have an almost guranteed spot because they dont have a long snap for next year. And i am not just some dumbass with just hopes of making it on the team, i am in constant contact with the coaches, and they are telling me to cut weight.
My parents arent trying to keep me from essential vitamins and nutrients, etc. They were just raised up to be vegetarins, and i have to respect that because they put a roof over my head. I do eat meat, just not as often as i like to. I also used take animal pak everyday, but now i just take a centrum.
The reason i cant use any supplements, is becasue my doctor put me on new medication and wants to see how my body reacts to it. any other supplements would interfere. I will ask my doctor if i can use whey protein, becasue i dont see any problem with it. I just want to doctor to get a proper synopsis of the medication.

He said to stop taking all the supplements that i usually take. he said specifically not to use any pre-workout N.0. type powders, creatine, thermogenics (suff i would usually take to get in shape) however, he wasent specific towards protein supplements, so i just thought when he said all supplements, he ment protein powders too.

So you're a longsnapper, nice, just don't let anyone bang your head too hard while you're looking down (I know it's not legal to line someone directly in front of ya, but I'm still betting they bang your head anyways).

It looks like whey protein is your best friend, but will it interfere with this medication, and what kind of medication is it if you don't mind telling us?

About cutting, it's really pretty simple, just burn more than you take in and you'll lose weight, preserving muscle mass (especially since you're vegetarian) will be tough though, that's why you need whey protein if you can take it. If all else fails, you could always take some clenbuterol, it's a great cutting drug, but I don't recommend it and I have no idea how your body would react to it since you're only 18. Plus if you're still being drug tested it might show up on that.

Just work really hard, be consistent, watch what you eat, and you should be fine.

By the way, I'm not advocating drug use or anything by mentioning clen, just letting ya know what options are available.

Hell no. Especially not when entering NCAA specifications. It may not be banned, but there's other options available before drug use.

Yeah, after reading some about clenbuterol I found out that several professional athletes have been fined/suspended or punished in some way for using clenbuterol.

By the way, is there a pic in my sig or no?

Yeah but he is just a longsnapper, not a defensive or offensive linemen where strength is so critical. But yeah I wouldn't recommend using clen either since he's just trying to lose a few pounds, not cut for a contest. Speaking of which Vick how much weight do you need/plan to lose?

Oh and nvm about the sig pic I got it working now, wish it was bigger tho, doesn't do my legs justice lol.

Anger problem, dude get off the meds and use that stuff to your advantage to hit the gym hard.

Oh and Kaboom, you're looking so tiny in your avatar, but just keep working at it and one day you MIGHT be as big as me haha. Just messing with ya of course you're bigger than me.
