Tribute to "brolic" bigbull

We often talk about what Brolic means, I guess it has many has many meanings to many people, but to me it can be summed up in one word: Bigbull aka Nick. I know he'll hate this, but for anyone who doesn't know, on top of other long term serious illnesses which he has fought most of his life, he now has been diagnosed with an inoperable cyst on his brain. I just got off the phone talking to him, he can only just make out some colours and shapes and has severe migraines. He told me he was missing training and was wanting to return to the gym next week. I was talking to Zoie, his wife when Nick had yet another seizure. I have fought many battles with Brain trauma, seizures,but my endeavours pale in the wake of what this guy puts himself through to train. I truly believe he encaptulates the word " brolic" and although his latest illness may keep him from the stage, I truly believe I have never met anyone who is more determined to overcome the obstacles set before him! I therefore would like to suggest we honour his achievements in some way! What do you guys think?

the man is a gentleman and a scholar. he's never given up and that's what i respect about him.

There aren't many who could do what he has and I applaud him for it. God bless you Nick, I'm always here if you ever need anything.

I hope that if I ever was in the same situation as him I would be able to do what he has done. I don't know Nick but I wish him the best! God Bless!

he is definitely an inspiration! What did you have in mind Moorey as far as honoring him? Whatever it may be I am fully on board. May god bless you and yours Nick.

I know a lot of people on here are what we call brolic, but nick epitomises the word IMO and maybe we could have a honoury club of Brolicness for people who have shown their incredible devotion to our sport under extreme difficulties of illness, injury etc and maybe Nick ( bigbull) could be the first honoury member? I know it would have to be vetted by constanza first, but what do you guys think?

Bigbull, you deserve much respect from all the members here on the dungeon. If for nothing else, for the simple fact that the majority of us in your situation would have given up. I hope for you only the best.

Got a phone call from Zoie, Nick's wife, he lost his eyesight last night, he is now in hospital with a suspected stroke and awaiting a MRI scan, but can you believe this guy he was more upset that he might not be able to go to the natural bodybuilding show with me, Robby( from the dungeon) and some more friends next weekend! IF courage alone made champions, Nick would be Mr Olympia!

oh man. prayers sent. wish there was something we can do. defenitly makes us check our lives to make sure we are living it to the fullest. thanks for the update morrey. best thing you can do for people in these times is just be there and stay postivie.

nick says hi to u all and said he wie back will bk with u all so (even if i have to type for him)

he saw the eye doc today and they said this could be for life which mean nick will no longer be able to train which means his life is taken away from him (but it dos not mean he will stop comin on bbd to see u all)

nick atm is in a very lonly place that i cant reach him i dont know what to say to make him feel better in any way i feel like i am not doing my job has his wife because i cant console him in any way

i got the hosptal to let him out for an hour so he could see the kids and all he could do is cry

nick is a shell of the man he once was this has beaten him all the things nick has been though and this has killed all he had left he has no fight left he is done finished

and i dont know what to do to bring him back

anyway thank oue all for your kind words and nick will be happy to know all his frineds at the bbd are there for him i will keep u all updated on what is going on with him

your just going to have to learn how to train him. his knows his form. will just need some guidance. ive seen on many occasions drs being wrong. you never know even if he dosnt get full site back he may get partial. even if not people can adapt easyer then we think we can.

Inspirational ! but unfortunately Ive just been informed that the prognosis is that if Nick continues training his condition would be become even more acute and seriously affect his chances of living! even if he never lifts a bar again, his contribution here is IMO always welcome

what. ****. i just emailed Greg Rando to see if he would offer some words of inspiration. but that is ****tys news. hmm ok ill keep thinking. i think a wife and kids are still enough to live for. it just may seem like hes giving up but sometimes it just takes awhile to find your path.

Wow, don't know what to say!

Nick man, you've helped me a lot since I first started coming here. True dude, really hope you get better. You have my prayers. I'll get on MSN sometime this week and hopefully talk to Zoie or something. Stay strong man, sounds lame, but strength is a powerful word. You know you have all of BBD to support you so never feel down man.

Get better man and think of the positive!

I've never really talked to him much but I hope only the best for him.
I have family in the hospital and I know this can get expensive. I don't know how they are financially but maybe we could set up some kind of account to help them if they are in need. I couldn't give much but I know every little bit helps.

Hey Nick really sad to hear the news. I dont know the background of your health but ill be praying for you to get back to fitness again! Are you still in hospital? If so where is it because id like to come meet you when I come down although im not sure if it will be feesable because ive already booked flights but Ill do my best to try and see you if your anywhere near manchester.

Im always gonna be here for you mate and if you ever need anything dont hesitate to ask!

I think your thoughts are spot on, although it will take him some time to refocus, he has got a great supportive wife and two fine kids and in time I am sure he will be bale to take everything in. We are lucky that treatment in the Uk is free, so I guess we are fortunate at least there is no financial worries on that side of things

Where do you being in a thread like this.. Only just a couple of days ago I talked to Nick and Zoe.. Come to find it has made a bad turn..

I'm deeply....deeply saddened by this. Zoe all you can do is be by his side and be there for him... When he needs support you will be there to answer the call.

My heart goes out to Nick and Family.... Your in my prayers.

I'm really glad that he has a great wife that worries about him and has taken care of. Zoie you are a great woman be blessed for ever because i've seen many cases of men and womens been abandoned when the other is sick and you have been there keep being the loving wife you'll be rewarded in heavens for that.
