Hey guys,

Ive been wondering the last 4 weeks about whether its worth getting some to help maximize my back workouts.
See the problem is im a also a reasonable squash player and the more forearm strength i have the better but my heart is in body building.
So my question to you guys is: Is it worth getting some wrist wraps to help with my back or should i keep training without them?
(and incase you were wondering my backs not lagging)

I have some, but I only use them when I must. And its only mainly for lifts like deadlifts. If you dont have to, dont. Try using chalk. You will be surprised how much you can actualy hold on to.

yeah I remember my first pwerlifting comp I was such a rookie and when they told me I was unable to use straps or anything like that I was scared to death, but my boy told me not to worry and use chalk. And sure enough my hands didnt slip at all.

if ur gym doesn't allow it though, use straps for sure. I use them mostly on back day. it'll help you transform, trust me.

straps arent bad, your forearms will still get strong regardless. I use them just so I can focus on working the muscle out better, ie back or shrugs. Ruhl said he wears them for the same reasons in his video, you can work your forearms out separately if it matters to you that much.

right but why wear them if you can get the same thing with chalk. Theres a limit with straps as well. a lot of time its not your grip that gives even though it seems like it. Its the grip giving but more so the bar slipping. If you dont want to take chalk to the gym with you than I would say use straps for heavy lifts. Although youmay want to better isolate the muscle your working out, you will find yourself dependent on the straps.

Start your work out without straps. If/when your forearms give up. put the straps on to continue hitting your back.

u can get away without them. for example, on a move like the lat pulldown if u make a concerted effort to put ur palms ON TOP of the bar(not ur fingers) u will notice that u feel it more in ur lats and not forearms and bi's. Really gotta develop the mind-muscle connection too, don't be heaving weight around and lying to urself if ur not really feeling it in ur targeted bodypart.
