I was just on bodybuilding.com (I know im sorry, I truley hate it for everything other than the supplements they sell) and I watched a video on there.

"How To Get A V-Shaped Back"

As of now im kind of already angry with myself for going this deep into the propoganda that bodybuilding.com calls its buisness.

They show this guy whos probably 190lbs soaking wet, and gave him his own mini feature on BB.com. He starts his back workouts with a Hex bar deadlift.

Now I begin to fume from the ears a little.

Then he goes on do discuss how you have to put a "bounce" into your deadlift and go directly into a shrug for maximum thickness.

I'm swearing at my computer screen at this point.

I personally love powerlifts and when people discrace these lifts... I don't get to happy.

I just want to know your feelings on this and please watch the video and tell me how you all feel.

-Wall

**Disclamer**
I'm not at fault for any outrageous behavior or breaking of computer caused by this video.

can you post the vid?

as for bouncing... all that is gonna do is make the 0-4 inch mark a little easier, not build any muscle
for my deads i sometimes let the bar rest on the ground for a second or 2 so that i lose all of the elastic energy that is stored in my muscles and that makes the lift like your doing the first rep for all the reps in the set, and anyone that does deads consistently knows that the first rep is always the hardest
as for doing a shrug at the top, i used to train with a number of powerlifters who held state and some national records and they always told me NOT to do a shrug at the top, you will realize that you use your traps waaaaay more when training shoulders opposed to back, so i always pair traps with shoulders

That is exactly what I thought. They put a little skinny dude on there who uses nothing but machines and a Fuggin hex bar and expect ME to take him seriously.

Honestly, what is this world coming too... When the weak think they can keep up with the big dogs...

I'd love to be his workout partner for a week, show him how its done. I garuantee he wouldnt be able to tell you his own damn name after 1 hr with me.

Ranting,

First, I agree, the guy isn't anything special, but in bodybuilding terms, I think he looks fine.

But yeah, I don't understand the point on using a hexagon bar for deadlifts on a BACK day. Deadlifts in general are a leg/hip dominant exercise, especially the hexagon bar; more of a hip, glute and hamstring dominant exercise than a back one.

I definitely also agree. Why would you use machine? The two rows were a mid pull, why do you need two? Definitely would get me pissed.

So hard to trust the internet these days, ya know.
