I feel the pain almost right on the supraspinatus muscle. I've already started ice treatment and will also try to get anti-inflammatories tonight, the pain goes away a few hours after working out. I know I should go to the doctor but I'm afraid of a "stop all physical activity for 2 months" type of answer.. I have to go anyway, but I need some thoughts from you guys. |
Hey Blitzkrieg:
I dealt with shoulder bursitis for a number of years, on and off. Rotator cuff injury was the precursor and I did nothing but lift through it...Bad CHoice.
I ended up tearing the bicep and having that repaired and a Sub-Acromial decompression done at the same time. My orthopedist said by not dealing withe the rotator cuff and the bursitis, it weakened all the ligaments and tendons in that area which was probably the major cause of my bicep tear.
Notwithstanding, I could not lift for 6 months after the surgery. It is 100% now and no more bursisits... But, if I had simply gone to the doctor and gotten something for it and gone through some physical therapy, I would not have had to deal with the lay-off, which killed me...
I strongly suggest you get to the doc and let professionals help you get it better now...
Just my 2 cents...
