Weight training and how it was adapted to my life and your's.

Working out / Weight training has adapted so well to my life, it’s an incredible sport and hobby. I have increase endurance, I feel better about myself, people look at me different. Not in a strange way, just look to me for advise in being healthy for themselves. Some of us are looked upon as ambassadors of the sport. Being a father of 2 wonderful kids. What I do in my life has a direct affect on my kids lives as well. Energy level,. eating healthy. Getting the proper amount of sleep like my kids do( god I wish I could sleep 12 hours a night like them ) wouldn’t we all love that, LOL.

Weight training has helped me in the Fire service. Lifting all the heavy hoses, apparatus’s, tools, equipment. Putting on the heavy turn out gear for hours on end. I don’t tire as easily as the other member’s. The ones that I will see sitting on the tailgate of someone’s truck, while I’m backing up the other 2 and 3 man teams. Granted I push myself harder to learn more and stay focused.

This hobby / sport we all do, gives us life long longevity. Empowers us to be better than the ordinary run of the mill Joe. ( I’m not picking on the Joe’s in the dungeon hahah).

My family member’s look at me different. Actually my brother’s wives look at me like, wow I wish my husband would look like you. Grrrowly.. And my wife has gotten comments from them like. Your so lucky to have a husband that is Built.. Cause they can’t get there husbands to workout.. Oh they workout, 12 and 16 ounces at a time. Spending time at the bar after work.

We You and I, have a different idea on life. We want more out of life. That’s why were here in the dungeon, learning and helping each other out. Day in and day out. Sharing information.

I will hit 200 lbs, when that will be I don’t know. Slow and steady and one day I will join the 200 lb club. I honestly think I will look really really good. Envy of the neighborhood and the other wives around me.

I’ve been on the nutty blue marble for 40 + years. I have seen fads come and go. But the one solid thing that remains is your health and how you take care of yourself now and for the future.

Be honest with yourself and your hard work will pay off.

Chris

Chris your right, many things have happened to me in the last twenty year, injuries, illnesses, break ups and divorce, but the one thing that has remained steadfast through out all the good and bad times is the gym. It has kept me healthy and I dont mean just physically, the times when things have began to get overwhelming, ive sought respite at the gym, this is my place, no one can get at me and as others have said unlike people the iron never lies to you. Our faces age, we get wrinkles and grey hair, the eyesight may go, but you can still have the body of a twenty year old !

it feels good seeing older champs like yourselfs destroying younger guys. lol i think getting older in bbing does haves its pros contrary to what alot young guys think, even though im young i see it. knowledge and experience in the sport is a huge advantage, not to mention older guys muscle's have a more mature look. hell, bodybuilding on into the 70s isnt out of the question these days. much respect

I know alot of guys feel threatned (and they wont think threatend is the right word) but hearing another guy being openly honest, speaking from the heart and not tyring to sound like some tough guy makes some guys feel uncomfortable. I think because you are new (but so am I) youll see that this isnt just a site for 'what supps', 'what exercise'.. its about support 1st, note 'the #1 support team' under the header. Mabey Luc just hadn't realized this yet. Chris is just sharing the benifits hes found in bbding on a bbding support site, makes sense.
