1. Lack Of Bodybuilding Goals

set realistic goals, without goals you are like a ship in the middle of the sea, just drifting away with no sense of direction. Try to picture in your mind what you want to look like, and put all you efforts , it will pay off.

2. Lack Of A Sensible Bodybuilding Program

Dont pick an advance training routine thats made for Ifbb pros, they are not made for you to follow. Pick a training routine that best suits you and have fun with it. dont walk in the gym and make something up in your head and jump from machine to machine. If you are not sure about the form ask the trainers in the gym, search on google and look at pics, vids.

3. Not Following A Sensible Bodybuilding Diet

You need good quality food to recover from the hard training. You damage the muscle fibers in the gym by lifting heavy, they need good food to recover and get stronger.

4. Expecting Bodybuilding Supplements To Do All The Work For You

dont fall for ads in the magazines, there are good supplements out there but they are waste of money if you don't train and eat quality food.

Proper Nutrition + Proper Training + Supplements = Good Gains

5. Lack of Proper Rest and Recovery

Muscles do not grow as you work them out. They grow while you sleep. Dont stay awake all night chatting to ur friends on phone, msn, .... Get to bed and sleep LONG.!

Great post!

If I can add, I think the lack of self-motivation and lack of confidence can also be a direct result of why you're failing. I, personally, almost quit/failed because of confidence. You need to stand with your head high, if you aren't experiencing the result you were hoping, look for flaws in your program and your diet.

Also, if you can't find something to get you motivated in this sport, you could also quit/fail. Find something. anything that will help you get your ass to the gym and move some weights. It can be as far as looking forward to your post-workout meal or to do a workout you enjoy. Nice post bro.

nice post man, reps...

Also I would add one saying "Don't compare yourself to others" because that is also a huge reason people get un-motivated. They see others who are making 3x the gains they are and just stop. or they see people eating burger king as their diet and they are still making more gains. Everyone is different and should have their own unique goals. Don't compare yourself to others

I agree with all but number 2. Im a big fan of "feeling it out" when I walk into the gym. Soon as I start sticking to a plan I find myself elsewhere other then the gym.

To me, sleep is the biggest reason. I go nowhere without rest and recovery. The other points are nice too, although sleep would be most important in my opinion.

Welcome to the Dungeon!

Yeah it's hard to get 8+ hours of sleep every night, especially if you have a normal life lol
