okay 2day two of my friends in school told me if they can come to gym with me , so i took them and it was legs day for me. they havnt been in a gym in their life b4 and im serious both of them are 18 yrs old, and here we go im doing squats and they tell me they dont wanna work on legs they just want to work on biceps ( as most newbie would) so they go and do like 45 minutes of biceps and dont even listen to me. i told them 9 sets would be enough, these guys are grabbing heavy weight and jerking them all around. and wouldnt even let me do my legs. they just come while im doing leg presses make fun of me and say your got lots of muscle but if you go swimming you will sink to the bottom. and stuff like these. it was my worst workout i ever had, and i felt really embrassed in front of other ppl that know me in the gym. one of them ask me i wanna have muscle but not look fat like you ( this made me so mad) or take steroid like bodybuilders take. so i told them you have to eat good foods with protein carbs healthy fats, and they are like f*** that. so we were in the gym about 1 hour and i really didnt feel my legs . after work out they went to Macdonald and i came home to have my post work out meal. this was my first and last time to take anybody to gym with me.

That sucks bro.. I had something similar happen to me once, I for once cant invite anyone unless I know them well and know how serious they are about weightlifting in general but once some guy I had just met who said was into weightlifting wanted to tag along, I said 'fine'. But it was not fine, it was fucking embarrasing.. he was like that guy in the 'My New Haircut' video, just shouting and making a fool of himself. After I was done with a few sets I came over to help him out, correct his form, etc.. and as soon as I told him about it he goes "oh its ok man, I think I just pulled a muscle so, I'm going home, cya"..
never saw him again thank god

Hopefully you can point them in the right direction and bring some more people into the sport, sometimes people know everything but results speak louder than words, I think once they see you blowing up and taking all the ladies they'll start to listen

me too
15-20 for biceps
15-25 or tris

some people just need higher volume than others.
mesamorphs usually need to train with higher reps and higher volume than ectomorphs.

wow, 10-15 sets. I guess I could punch out 6 or 7, but 10-15 would come from endurance, I suppose.

Pardon me, but isn't 10-15 sets for an individual body part over training? I know you take 60-90 sec breaks between sets and all, but isn't it a bit much?

Also, how do you know how many sets you really need to do, I mean, am I wasting my time doing 5-6 sets??

You should've pointed them to the door and tell them to stop being such puny humans.

to be honest with you guys i never hang out with these guys. plus you know when you are training and you set a goal to become pro bodybuilder you should change the way you live. whenever i go outside i take my meal and eat it in the car, and dont go to parties and stuff cuz everybody is smoking and drinking so you go there to do what? like lunch times at school everybody goes to Macdonald and i have to come home prepare my afternoon meals and hit the gym. haha one of the guys just called me and asked me what do i take ( protein powder) so i told him you need protein powder and you must workout . and he was like "im gonna go buy one 2mwr but i am not gonna workout". you know guys im serious about this> when ppl ask me for advise or i see a newbie i do my best to help them, with all the thing i have learned by now.
