Honestly n88tr NO ONE can tell you how many sets you Should be doing. Listen to your body cause what works best for you might not work for anyone else on this site. Pretty much the rule of thumb though is if your training arms, on average, four exercises of four sets/ ten reps is a good workout for arms. If there pumping really heavy and you don't feel them pump anymore you know you've gone to far. Try this:

Triceps:

Tricep Pressdowns: 4 sets 10 reps
Close Grip Bench: 4 sets 10 reps
Skull Crushers/ Lying French Press: 4 sets 10 reps
One Armed Reverse Grip Pulldowns: 4 sets 10 reps

Biceps:

Barbell Curls: 4 sets 10 reps
Dumbell Curls: 4 sets 10 reps
Incline Curls: 4 sets 10 reps (about a 30 degree incline)
Preacher Curls: 4 sets 10 reps (either barbell or dumbell which ever u prefer)

This is a MASS gaining program. Do this 1 time a week for 6-8 weeks and I SWEAR you'll see gains.

you can take pictures every couple weeks to see if you're progressing

or you could measure your arms every month or so and check it that way.

Well I do 7-8 reps in a set and do 5-6 sets for each exercise, DB bench press, Preacher curl, etc.

If THAT is a mass-gainer workout, I've been doing that for near 5 weeks now.

I know that more isn't hardly ever really that much better, so I'm trying to find the happy medium.

Regarding the pump, in the past I thought I experienced it, but then additional reps when pumped hurt, so I think that was just a cramp. I probably need to drink more water during workouts. It's funny, I'm the ONLY guy in the gym, girls included, that has a container for my water, I use my blender bottle with just water, everyone else just sips from the bubbler. I take in about 1 or 1.5 liters per workout. So in conclusion, I don't think I've ever gotten a pump. I don't know why, maybe it just takes more time.
