yes good point, and have the bar touching your legs throughout each rep

Yeah that's a good idea, because if you don't bend you knees very much then you put too much stress on the lower back, which can cause bad form.

By the way, I completed my personal best in the deadlift today at 280 for 6 reps, I think I could have easily done 9 or 10 but my grip gave out, and once that happens it's hard to just start again.

ever try chalk? if im not using chalk i can hardly hold 225, but if i am using chalk i can hold 365+ easily

so if i need a breather before my 4th or 5th rep, i can stand there and hold it for a few seconds and not lose my grip

Naw I never tried chalk, probably wouldn't matter much since I wear gloves, and I don't think you can use chalk and gloves together. I'm ok with it tho, I'll be attempting 290 in three weeks for a minimum of 5 reps.

you should try no gloves and just chalk

then i do deadlifts i use chalk, no belt, no straps, and no shoes

10+!!!! i love them, lol. i've been doing them staight leg after regular. the straight legs really are my favorite next to deads. i do them with maximum weight to allow 12-15 reps where the 12th is ready to snap me in half.

I think its a case of learning to love compound exercises like deadlifts and squats, the exercises themselves are puke inducing,I am filled with nervous excitement before doing them, but theres that moment when youve finished, your doubled up trying to get your breath back and let the pain ebb away a bit and you know youve put everything you have into lifting the max you could.and IMO I dont think guys who miss the basics are maximising their true potential!

yeah. if you do Sumo deadlifts if you're shorter, then it'll work a lot better for you. it helps your back straighten and since you've already got a lower center of gravity and you come down a little further you'll see a lot more gains. I changed mine up a year or so ago and I went from 315 as my max and immediately jumped up to 405 within a few weeks. It's amazing.
