hi
i went for a blood test last week, and i got my results 2day i had a Urea of 9.6 mmol/L which is high! normal should be between 3.2 - 7.1 mmol/L

My doctor told me that i have a high protein diet, i told him i consume about 300-320 g of protein per day. he said i need to lower that to about 100 g. only eat 1 piece of meat( stake,chicken breast, fish ) a day! and 1 scoop of protein powder. and no eggs in the morning. so yea im a little disappointed. i told him about my diet and he was like consume only 2 eggs per week. and dont put to much pressure on my muscles. and do more aerobics and swimming rather than just weightlifting. so guys what do you think?

Well question. Are you bulking or cutting right now? Cuz for you to be taking 320g a day of protein seems a little high IMO considering you only weigh 182 if you're bulking. Other than that there's always a lot of diff factors that could make your urea that high. I had a friend that didn't take shakes or eat that much protein and his was extremely high. It could just be how you are naturally. If you're not doing cardio now, or are doing just a lil you could always up it and see if that helps, but don't go overboard if you're still on a bulk. You do wanna keep your heart healthy though. It could be genetics, but try and incorporate a little bit of everything he said and see what happens. Let us know what happens and how you feel man. yea im on a bulk, its obviousley from my high protein diet. im going to lower my protein intake to about 250 g.

I dont want to be the siren of any bad news, but maybe you should go to get more extensive testing on your kidneys if your urea is that high.

i dont understand the extreme about of protein some ppl take in...when i bulk i only average around 330 grams per day, but thats when im 290-305lbs..and apparantly it works well consideriing i gain nearly 50-60lbs everytime...i would increase my carbs and lower the protein intake...you would be surprised at the % of protein you take in is wasted

this basically where my protein intake comes from, so whichones should i take out or limit them? tnx

9:00 ....2 eggs + 3 egg white

11:00 ......1 scoop protein 24 g

2:00....1 chicken breast

4:00... 1/2 can tuna

7:00 post workout shake 2 scoop protein

8: 1 chicken breast

10:00 .. cottage cheese

that only looks like around 230ish anyways and i added to it to be fair...also remember your body can only digest around 38-43g per every 2-3 hours so the rest is wasted..so lets say you consume 7 meals per day all at 40g each, thats only 280g so your not even doing that anyways..
