I've been paying VERY close attention to my diet, and have started to Cut as of Jan 25th and have been continuing it. I eat good meals, veggies at each, with 20 grams of protein at each meal as well, usually in the form of a shake or a powerbar. I'm trying hard to get in 30 mins of HIT after my light session of weights, but it's really difficult. I AM NOT a quitter, but it's hard to get into the 'zone' and just do it, I literally struggle with each minute, but I get it done.

Over the past week or two, I think I've gained weight -- fat. This is very unnerving, I've been eating good, doing HIT, I started taking 1 cup of Casein at night, [foams up in my blender cup, tastes FOUL] sleeping at least 8 hours every night, eating every 3 hours [sometimes 2.5 hours], and I'm an active guy, walking at least 3 miles from class to class everyday on campus, and I take 1 teaspoon 1/2 hour of Creatine before my workout, and another 1 teaspoon right after my workout. I take a Flax seed pill and a Omega 3 CLA pill at 3 of my meals, and a Multivitamin at my first meal, I have also started taking Grapefruit with my breakfast, I've heard it's good for weight loss.

Any ideas, for me? I'm really confused about this....

I know I could prolly find this a ways back in the threads, but how much do you weigh? and What're ur macros looking like for cutting? It would seem that if you were even like 160lbs that even eating 8 meals a day with 20 grams per meal wouldn't be enough for a cutting cycle. Really just figure out your macros and dial in the diet and you should be fine. It could just be ur eating more carbs than u should and not really hitting a high enough intensity of cardio. Other than that I have no idea man.

The motivation comes from inside. If you want it, you're gonna make it happen. You're a strong and confident guy. Just keep putting your shoulder against it and push for all you're worth. The changes will come in time. You'll see results, no problem.

Keep up the good work and happy lifting!

^^ Thanks for the encouragement, I never give up, seriously, on any project I want to accomplish, and this is just another in a long list.

^ Damn... before it was maybe 2800 or 3000, it was really shitty, mostly junk food, and no exercise

Now it's 2100 or a little below that, all good foods, though I think I'm getting enough or maybe not enough carbs. I find it difficult to eat good carbs, I mean I just eat dark rye bread and a lot of veggies for my carb catagory.

The majority of my calories come from my shakes, I get 104 calories for my 20 grams of protein, in my ASN [American Sports Nutrition, I find I get far fewer calories than the ON brand], in 1 shake. I take powerbars that give me 23 grams of protein, though I get 270 calories in one of those, so I limit myself to 3 of those each day.

I also neglected to post that I have been off my HIIT for about 3 months and am only recently getting back into it. Also, thinking about it just now, those protein bars I take, usually 2 a day are actually more of a candy bar, sadly I realize it now... with 260 calories, 23 g protein but 3.5 g sat fat, which I think is a lot.

I can burn 320 calories on the stairclimber in 25 minutes, but I still think it's a lot of fat in a bar that's supposed to be a protein supplement, right? If it helps, I can scan in a wrapper and you guys can see the full details of it.
