recovering faster than before?

as most of you know i just got back from the gym after a fairly long lay off, but before then i was training a hell of a lot.
anyway now that im back into the swing of things and going to the gym 4-5 days a week for about 3-4 weeks now i seem to be recovering very fast.. actually alot faster than i can recall ever before even though my diet is shittier than ever before

whats going on with that? is it possible that my recovery system is developing and becomming more effective as i grow/mature or what?

Your diet may be shit but the less protein you give your body the more efficiently it is used. Starting again after a long layoff is kinda like starting from the beginning. You are going to see gains. + you have muscle memory working for you.

I've heard that sometimes it's a great thing to let your body recover for a week and then get back to the training, it should let you lift heavier weights. Don't know if it's true tho.

As others have said a break now and again is good, if it is used positively, you come back fully charged and hungry again. Too many people hit the wall through over intensity and if you dont build in a cycling programme to your workout your body will do it for you in the form of breakdown( either injury or illness).
