The best way to cut is to set a body fat percentage goal, of course you'd need some way to measure your body fat, so you would need to get calipers.

Your goal after a cut is to get at a higher body weight while at the same body fat percentage for example.

Start: 150 pounds 10 percent body fat
End bulk: 200 pounds 20 percent body fat
Cut: 165 pounds 10 percent

This isn't an accurate example of weight gain and loss, but you get the idea, larger weight and same body fat percentage or less than when you started bulk.

Or if you see if this thing here controls you... it's going to burn you and everything around you up. That’s right.

I'm going to answer that one Masko with it depends.

I mean it really depends how down to the wire you want to go for starters. The most important thing you have to remember in that case is its not the length of the diet but more the starting point.
If your already in good shape then it will take less time to get cut, and if your out of shape then its going to take longer.

I wouldn't go by calipers anyway if your going by BF percentages they can be incredibly inaccurate and you have to be highly skilled to use them properly. Go by the mirror visible abbs can appear around 10 - 14% and you know your getting in shape when you've got ripped hams and glutes say <6%.

Great results can be achieved though if you know what your doing and how to approach a cutting diet with regards to training, diet and supplementation. For a show i normally get in shape in around 10 weeks. Good luck dude.
