Seems like its the only muscle I ever pull its right below the back of my neck on the right side makes it hard to turn my head in that direction b/c it kills. I always warmup before working out am I the only one that constantly tweaks that muscle? Usually goes away the next day 2.

I have to really set my neck especially when doing heavy leg press, I have a tendency to push my neck right back when exerting and it really hurts

To prevent it from happening again or at least to take some precautions would be to make sure you stretch it out real good and do a few warm up sets with real light weights and quite a few reps before you really get into the excersise that messes it up.
I have a reoccuring problem in my shoulder but as long as I do this it dont bother me too much

i used to get the same thing all the time for that matter the same side. mostly when i did mil press. i discovered over time it was because i was doing more wieght than my traps could support. upright rows wasn't getting the job done so i started doing alot of shrugs varying my hand position. barbell, dumbell, machines etc. keeping my traps as strong as possible prevented the trap injury. hope this helps.

umm,, lets look at this from another angle,, it's not a muscle pull, its a Knot,, Muscle knot flare up under intense strain and from working your traps Heavy.. I get them from time to time.. Have your girl friend or wife or someone massage the knot, like there trying to split is in half. This will lend a hand in it's eventual separation.

Chris..
