I am having a hard time with deads and bent over rows. With deads I'm stuck at 365 and bent over rows at 225. Any tips to get past my sticking points? I'm open to all ideas

How strong are your legs? Do you have goosd leg stregnth because if not that the first thing I would work on.

As for back how many times are you hitting 225? Thanks bro just trying to get an Idea of where your at.

^^Cosign. All power comes from the legs. You need them wheels to be strong.

I'm squatting 315 for 10 deep reps and I can get 375 for 7 if I sacrifice form (which I hate doing) and I'm hitting 225 for 10

Try dropping you reps to the 4-6 range and see how that works. If nothing try switching to some other exercises then coming back a month later. Sometimes you have to reset the mind if you know what I mean. Come back and the weight will feel different. Sometimes when I hit squats the little 5 lb increase is so small that its easy to get a mind block and plateu. So I swith to leg presses or jump on the maching and then come back to squats stronger.

Just change your routine completley for 3-4 weeks, if you do HIT training try switching to Volume training for a while, give your muscles a chance to try something new for a few weeks and if you like your current routine then go back to that one otherwise try something else in the style that you prefer.

Thanks guys, much appreciated. And to answer your question Quinn yes I am somewhat plateau-ing on squats.

My lower back and neck have given me problems in the past and if I squat too hard on any given day my arms go numb. I did start using a belt and that has helped but every once in a while my neck spasms and my arms go tingly. It sucks but it is something only risky surgery (that I can't afford) can ultimately correct and I honestly don't want to go under the knife to begin with.

true that man, I agree with orbit though... this is what I've always been told and it's always appeared to be right, 4-8 reps to build strength and 10-14 reps to increase mass. like orbit said you should try to ecrease the reps and try to up the weight, with little 5 pound jumps... should help push you through the hard times... and sparky is right as well, you should constantly be changing your workout, throw some surprises at your body

how you respond to a plateau tells you a lot about yourself... you've gotta have the mental and physical toughness to push through this shit, focus, go a little crazy and beat it

right on. I'm beginning to like this website. I feel like I'm the only one around that goes nuts if I don't hit the gym 4-5 times a week. It's good to know there's others out there you know?
