it depends on what your doing.. (ie: bulking and trying to gain muscle size, or shredding and trying to lose bodyfat)
atm, i can only breifly say eat everything you can and just get as much protien as possible. you need a gram of protien per pound of your bodyweight every day. that makes it 165grams of protien daily.

What is your budget? Out of all the supplements you should invest in are..

1. Multivitamin
2. BCAA supplement
3. Flax seed oil or fish cod oil
4. Creatine monohydrate
5. Whey protein

well since he named the basic supplements. ill name a few foods you gotta have. thats affordable. and probably smarter to buy before the supplements.

Eggs
peanut butter
chicken
hamburger
tuna
oatmeal
bagels
pasta
potatoes

those are the basics you gotta have for food.

Just to be more specific about the foods.

Potatoes- Sweet potatoes
Pasta- Whole wheat if possible
Oatmeal- Rolled/old fashioned through the day (instant for breakfast)
peanut butter- All natural
Bagels- Whole wheat, or just use it for breakfast and postworkout if not
hamburger- Ground beef or lean cuts of meat

Other things to add. 1 percent or skim milk. Fruits and vegetables.
