i don't say nothing. all i have is my cd playing in the background & it's all i need...picking up a weight is like buttering a piece of bread to me or changing a gear when i'm driving...IT COMES NATURALLY

Haha, I just yell because it intimidates people who have the weights and **** I need and they're too scared to keep using it. It's a poor abuse of size, but when you need the 100lb bells the guy at the end is using for shrugs for your shoulder press, you need it.

When you're in a gym when the closest guy to your size is 70lbs lighter than you and 5 inches shorter, you'll see how good it can be. I don't advocate bullying, but it's fun every now and again. And Kirklab, I know you wouldn't be scared, but others **** them self lol

no need to yell out, to let ppl know my presence. cos to me the only person that exists at that time in that place is me & the weights...no need to shout or yell to get me worked up, to me IMO i yelling before a lift is silly. you're there to train & train hard you will, but there's no need for it...NOt trying to disrespect anyone nore trying to piss anyone off here. disagree if you must, but this is how i feel, i saw a vid with dorian yates not too long ago, & i suppose training styles over here in the UK are totally different to the US. we seem to have a more hardcore method in training styles as far as our minds & gym environments are concerned. the brits go gym, train hard for an hour or two, then they go home & eat. if a guy yelled yeah buddy in my gym he'd prolly have his legs bent at the knees backwards, then hung by the testicles & have a 50kg dumbell launched at his head...sorry but i personally don't like it, you wanna scream yeah buddy, go to a theme park & jump off a roller coaster. yelling out on your last rep through blood sweat & tears is all good. not before...sorry guys i had to say that, is just that we don't like that sort of thing in our gym, lol

I think it's somewhat lost in translation, and I mean this is the most respectful way. LBJ, I think you're right that it's more of a US and Can thing and in most places people would be castrated for such things. After all, who are the only guys you see yelling in the BB vids? US body builders. I do it, not to scare people (usually just to get people out of my way), but to use reverse psychology, which is the main reason for much of it. I think it is light-weight and by getting my self psyched up, I can rack up the big numbers. Obvs some people don't need to do this, LBJ, you're evidently a monster in the gym without it, but some need the psych-up method, especially used when using the heavy weight, like myself. But I guess what ever works. But we're a tight nit tribe at my gym, and everyone who knows me, knows I'm a gentile giant, so it's mostly the newcomers who aren't savvy to the gym life that get scared.
