I have a newborn....he's 2 months, and some days i just dont get any more than 3-5 hours of sleep at night....i go to the gym and lift anyhow.....Is this counterproductive?

it isnt very good for your mucsle growth because they dont have a proper chance to recover and grow, but hey its part of life having a baby and its only natural for it to cry at night, so there isnt much you can do about it

I feel you bro. Went through the same thing. You will still build but technicly yes it is counter productive a little. But as long as you go into a REM state which is usually more than 30 min than you will be OK bro .Just try and sneek naps in whenever you can.

must be frustrating, but i say you should still hit the gym, but until thoses sleepless nights end don't train as hard as you normally would as this would be counter-productive as you would have literally no energy. Good luck bro

Man I feel your pain. I got a 7month lil girl. plus work 2 jobs and my sleep is screwed. I still go to the gym though. But I dont have as good of workouts if Im really dragging. People are not lying when they say your life is bout to change cause a baby huh????

Yeah it takes a 180 but in the end its all worth it. Cant just be about the GYM. Gotta have some meaning in life. You know what I mean?

yeah....when first met my wife....i was getting eight to nine hours of sleep a night...a portion of my paycheck went directly to food to fuel what i was doing in the gym.....was gettin big......then all of a sudden....no money....no sleep.....and why the hell are my pants getting smaller!? but that baby boy is worth it.

I have a 2yr old who wakes up every 2-3 hrs so I understand your problem. I found working on my diet helped me in the gym and daily activities since I was only getting 3-5hrs sleep. Having my kid run to the door to greet me after work also makes up for the sleepless nights. Hang in there, it'll be worth it.
