I have read that even a two week break can cause you to lose alot of your strength. As for your physique I doubt any loss in mass. I haven't touch a weight in four years since high school and managed to keep a good majority of my size. I only got softer not smaller, my arms were still a good 15in after four years and in only two months back in the gym they were back up to 16in. Muscle memory is a beautiful thing. I don't think even a month would hurt your physique. so relax and enjoy the vacation and when you come back just come back twice as hard and twice as headstrong.

2 weeks off will actually do you good..takes more than 14 days for serious atrophy to set in..just relax and go back to the gym at 1/2 the weight you were doing for 1st week..then you will be fine..everybody needs a 2 week break but nobody does it...I go to the gym when I'm exhausted and do heavy workouts and end up in over training which is the pitts...so dont worry you will be fine...

I wouldn't worry about losing too much strength at all. Muscle memory is one of the most amazing creation of the human body. After a 8 month period of me not training at all and then going back. My strength shot back up in the first month and continued to build up steadilly.

What kind of surgery? Mostly after the surgery, depending on which kind you might be out of the gym for up to 3 months or 12 weeks, durning that time your doc. will not want you to lift more than 10 pounds again depending on what was done. Don't be a fool and not listen to the doctor tells you, your only 16 there is a ton of time to hit the gym again and there will be plenty of shows to do.

Just check any warnings on your prescriptions. Such as DON"T OPERATE HEAVY MACHINERY. That incudes heavy weight too.

Last thing you need is to feel drowsy with 200lbs hanging over your face.
