I just got invited to do a bench press competition tomorrow, but on very short notice. I'm gunna be giving up about 7 pounds for my weight class, and on top of that my chest is still a bit tender from my workout.....and i have a slight strain.

anyways, i got a lot of crap going against me, but i need some advice.

first off, any way to make myself more ready over night? -funny questino, i know.

and second off, i dont know what to ask for on my attempt. i haven't maxed for about 18 months, and i dont knw what to start at. during my workout, i can do

180,185,190,195 all for 10 reps on flat bench

think you could gauge where i ougghta be

first of all, sleep well and have a good breakfast.... no alcohol and use creatine before lifts...

those set weights and reps are similar to my chest on flat...i would ask for something in the 230/240 range.

i dunno if one set will kill you for tomm.

GO do it.

my numbers are a little higher than you so im figuring go try 230-240 because i do about 255 2x

i dont think u should exhaust ur muscles now.. u are already sore as u mentioned and i would suggest u check tomorrow at the comp... dont check now just tip a weight which u think u are able to lift and do it...

right like always lbj. i'm gunna do it. i'll gain something from th experience i'm sure, but i gotta change up my workouts a bit. time to add some more strength and mass.

i always go up about 5 pounds, only when i feel i can comfortably handle a weight for a full 10 reps. do you think i need to go up more often, or is the slow gradual increases of only 5 pounds the best way? (even if that 5lb increase takes a good two or three weeks)
