Hey guys-

thanks for the support.

I ended up doing the 181 class and I only had one major opponent. He had competed a few times before, and even had a few victories under his belt.

He attempted 250, I matched it.
He attempted 270, I matched
He attempted 280, I went for 285 to win.

I had the bar about half way up, hit my sticking point, and began to push through it. The ref yelled "rack". I almost lost it. The way I lift, if the bar ain't going down, then you don't touch it. I don't know if we have any powerlifters here than can clarify, because maybe he called "rack" based on the powerlifting rules......but I'm telling you honest as can be that I would have pushed through that sticking point. I surely wasn't finished.

I felt robbed, but I rest assured knowing if I wanted to be conservative I could have tied him at 280.

Still pissed though. Thanks for the support, and I'll try and get a pic if possible.

Btw- my friend attempted to break the national record for his weight class, and got the weigth perfectly, but was disqualified because he racked the weight without the official's call. the official was a real asshole, like 75 years old with a cane and glasses.

If I were you I would wait.....for those competitions you have to prepare your self and train for that kind of lifting, If your body is not used to handle single repetitions you can hurt your chest or your shoulders. It is really exiting to go and compete and show your strength but if you get hurt you will need to rest and recover (no training for a few weeks) However at the end it is up to you.....you are the only one that knows your body and limitations.
