There are 6 things needed for a good entertaining bodybuilding dvd they are:

1. The athlete must be in reasonably good condition
2. Heavy weights may be realative, but its nice to see the athlete moving some impressive iron.
3. The athlete should be talkative, not overly talkative, just enough for the viewer to get a chance to "know him/her
4. Workout intensity should be high.
5. bonus features (back stage footage, private lifestyle stuff and nutrition is always fun watch)
6. Contest footage or posing footage is neat to watch as well.

Mike Morris' new dvd has 2.5 out of 6 of these. (they are 1,4, and 6-although its only gym posing).

Taped prior to the 2005 Ironman Mike is in good condition, showing a very thick and almost ripped physique. He takes a through his entire body routine. But being so close to the show the weights aren't impressive.

I was expecting some heavy poundages, because I've always read what an "animal" mike is in the gym.

His intensity is up there, and his movements are slow and deliberate. Stretching the muscles and making a good contraction seems to be a priority this close to a show for Mike.

His chest routine gives us a good example of how the blood can swell a persons muscle. Mike is truely a dense and thick athlete!

His leg routine is interesting as well. He squats and goes up to 315, but the reps are slow and he pauses at the bottom!!!(not at the top).

His calves are awesome looking and his delts are thick and big.

All in all this is a decent dvd. But it has some flaws.

First of all there are no chapters in this dvd production. So in some sense its like watching it on vhs. Now this sucks! Thats one of things that makes dvd enjoyable, the ease to bounce around the "movie".

Secondly Mike really doesn't even talk during the filming. No voice over, no talking while training, no anything.
So its just watching him train, and at times it get a little boring.

Thirdly no bonus features at all.
No contest footage, no diet info, no lifestyle stuff.

Some gym posing but thats it.

So if you like Mike Morris, and you don't mind the lack of personality in this dvd, and other missing ingrediants, then you'll like this DVD.

Its a val segal production (he did Chris Cormiers) and the production value is ok, (he should have taken the time to put the chapters in it!!!)

disappointing. I really like Mike Morris and thought the same about the heavy weights, b/c all I read about him is how powerful he is.
