How counterproductive is it to try and bulk and cut at the same time????

The way I see it most fitness guys (not bodybuilders) just fitness guys get fairly big but they dont bulk they eat clean.

I have read that "unless your dorian yates, you cant bulk and cut at the same time"

what do you guys think?????????????????

Is it worth it or what. And the reason im asking is: i want to gain mass but i look terrible when im bulking, i carry the weight horribly. almost entirely in my face and gut........its like those are the only places i carry it. And being single right now i do wanna look good.

What if I eat a ton of protein with very low carb/fat or just eat my carbs/fats in the morning and eat a ****load of protein shouldnt that work????

you'll still make steady gains without alot of carbs but u do need quite a bit of carbs to grow. instead of eating meat with fat in, try eatin more fish but dont cut out the carbs completly. as long as it's under 150-200 carbs a day u should be ok.

use pepper or spices in ur food, it's a natural fat burner, i saw jay cutler doin it in one of his vids.

To get big muscles and get "cut" at the same time that is the BB quest..It does happen my bud just lost 24 lbs and his bis slipped by only 1/4 inch or less..probably genetics involved but eating low glycemic carbs seems to be a serious part of the deal....lol no cookies

i am lean and get a lot of weght now... but i get a lot of carbs and a lot of protein... no, im not Dorian Yates :P

Here's a tip. Don't bulk for long amounts of time if you don't want to look bad during your bulk. Go up 4-10 pounds in body weight then cut back down to your last body fat percentage. If you are 200 pounds with 12 percent body fat, bulk up, then cut back down until your at 12 percent body fat again.

I've read that a mans testosterone levels raise with a lower amount of body fat on them. So why go and increase your body fat and weight over a long period of time when you can stay closer to a leaner weight?

Im in the same boat you are right now dude, wanna get more muscular but I carry all my "bulk" in my face ang gut I to am single and wanna look good for the beach season coming up.

For me Carb cycling is working really good I have minimal carbs for 3 days then shock my system with carbs on the fourth, Ive lost 15 pounds and havnt noticed much a strength decrease ( just an energy decrease on my low carb days) But be warned if thier any diet to put you into a bad moon it's this one.
