it depends what the rest of the split looks like, and what exersizes you are doing for each bodypart, reps and sets too.

It's fairly safe to train body parts twice a week. But like Mygeeto said, it dpeends on other factors.

Go by feel man...If you feel like you can hammer at it again with some serious intensity then do it. If you know your workout is going to be half-assed then save it for another time. Use the 100% percent rule...either you do things 100% or not at all, that goes for all things in life actually.

Where have people got the idea that 2x a week is a bad idea

But these factors play along though:

1. How hard do you train

2. How much do you rest/recover (sleep is not allways neseccarily resting/recovering)

3. How do you eat

i would say he means its probably not the best idea not to train a sore bodypart until it has recovered again. just like its not the best idea to go out into the snow if you've got a fever

If you do a super heavy back work out maxing out every exercise you dont want to hit that again for a week but you hit the biceps 3 days later if they cooled..lotta body parts to hit in a seven day period and u gotta get in some rest days too..so unless u are 100% dont do it..
