hi friends i´m have a spinal cord injury that´s have me on wheelchair for 7 years but the recovery is good and i walking again but with help

but my cuestion is, i can build muscle because some trainers say "building muscle with a spinal cord injury on recovery make me more heavy for the walk terapy"

help me please !!!!

oh damn im sorry to hear that man but i would say building lean mass would be a good thing, you should probly stay with high reps and light weight so you dont put on too much weight but hell im not a doctor

I'm not sure what to tell you. Get through walk therapy first, then after your therapy is done work on building back muscle and strength.

I'm not trying to be funny here, but being in a wheelchair that long, your arm strength is probably going to be stronger than when you left off. Just don't try to rush into anything, it's good to want to bodybuild but you don't want to try to injure yourself again for it.
Hopefully when you get to walk without help your leg strength will come back in full stride :)
