Hi Big ox, yes it is discouraging but stay with it and I suggest bumping your protein up to 1.5g/lb for the next few months. You will regain your size and strength quicker than it took the first time. Remember that growth takes time. Many here have had similar experiences including myself. Stay positive!

no sweat bro, once you have had or been that big before it is much easier to get back to that weight. I hurt my shoulder as well a while ago and took 7 weeks off. I continued to work legs out hard and didnt lose but a few pounds but once I got back to working upper body I was terribly weak. The strength came back within a month. Good luck, train hard but safe.

Hey welcome back. Shoulder injuries suck, I know, I seperated my sholder a couple of years ago and was out of the game for 1 year (no Soccer, Rugby, or Lifting) but on the flipside after physio I came back and my shoulder was way stronger than it was before and way stronger than my other one. Took a while to gain back the weight that I lost but I got it back plus a lot more, so dont get discouraged and just stick it out. Besides your still 22 you got alot of growing to do.

Welcome back, bro. I just got back in the game recently as well due to tendonitis, so I feel where you're coming from.

+1 Bump up your protein. Take it EASY the first several weeks back in the gym... It's very likely you'll get discouraged that your gains aren't coming as fast as you'd like them... and you'll want to lift heavy and start killing it like you used to.... but you need to be very cautious about using very heavy weight to avoid re-injuring yourself.

You're young enough to make a complete recovery if you do it smart!

Take your time, focus on your diet, and don't be afraid to walk away if you feel "BAD" pain!!!
