I don't know if Ronnie was so good or charismatic that we refuse to let his past glory fade away. Jay Cutler IS Mr. Olympia but it seems like Ronnie is still in the fore front of eveyone's minds. He was and is a great champion but I actually hope he doesn't come back and loses again. It's like Jordan coming out of retirement and getting schooled by the new players or your favorite fighter in the ring past his prime getting his ass whooped.

I want to remember the king as he was when he ruled the Iron Kingdom.

I hope he doesn't come back for the same reason, he is getting old. I'm not sure how much more his body can take. As he ages he is going to start having more injuries or at least have the same ones reoccur.

There's always the masters for him, not quite as glorious but still in the game.

this was the same thing said in the post victory interview with jay on bodybuilding talk radio. I agree with you guys, never been a huge ronnie fan, but I awlays respected him for being one of the greatest of all time and just an incredible athlete. After seeing/hearing how he handled himself after losing, I'm amazed to see that there is a part of him bigger than his back, unfortunately it's his ego. It's sad to see how he returned Jay's respect after all these years. If he comes back it will be sad times for him, because big Jay isn't slippin anywhere and Martinez is only gettin bigger and sharper. You know what they say, when you're at the top, theres only one place to go, and hes already on his way...

I think I'm going to disagree with you guys but only for the fact that this time last year Ronnie was still champ. Hes getting pretty old now thats true but I dont think one year is enough to say he should just retire. We all know his injury was a major reason as to why he wasnt at his best this year. For that reason I think that hell be in better shape next year, atleast to possibly take the sandow one more time. Jay finally has his title, lets see how he holds up, and on the other end lets see if Ronnie has that killer mentality he had when he was younger. Olympia 07 is going to be exciting.

Why do people keep making excuses for him? He said himself at the press conference that there was no injury, he lost because he wasn't the best. And yes he is getting old enough to the point that his body probably wont respond to training the way it used to. He should really think about retiring before he comes back looking like he's holding two kids hostage inside his belly and embarases himself with a 10 place finish. There are too many young guns that are in way better shape that Ronnie and have way more potental. He had his moment in the Sun, now its time to let it go.

I agree bro. Martinez finished right behind him, and I imagine they were close in scoring considering Ronnie wasn't close to Jay. So NOW he has Martinez snappin at his heels! If I were him I'd question what I would accomplish and if the stakes weren't too high to come back. Also, like you bro, I'm so F-ing tired of excuses being made, despite taped interviews and photos to back up every simple fact that supports why he did NOT deserve to win.

Yeah I think he should come back 1 more time in the best condition that he possibly can, like arnold did in 80'. Then break the record of 8 and set the new bar to 9. He deservies to be put down in history with 9, holding the record for the most wins.
